Jurgen Klopp believes signings could have a negative impact on Liverpool this summer – and he’s right. “Having too much quality doesn’t help with the development of players,”he told the Echo. “It’s good for everybody on the outside because they can say ‘well if he can’t play, then he can play or he could play’. “If you’re working together all week and then three of the players [of the same quality in the same position] can’t play, they won’t get any better. It’s not just about them staying confident in that kind of situation.” https://www.rousingthekop.com/2019/07/24/jurgen-klopp-says-signings-could-have-negative-impact/
That's it then, we spent all our money last summer. Think this is stupid on behalf of the club not to capitalise on the CL victory, ok maybe we don't buy a whole host of players, but we should be looking at least one or two who will challenge the established 1st team. We also only have one LB in the senior squad... Seems a bit light to me.
I don’t believe it tbh. Prices will start falling if clubs believe that we don’t have the money or we won’t pay the money. Right now if we approach anyone, we pay the PL premium Plus the European champions premium to boot. Klopp is moaning that our players will be burnt out.....he knows we need more quality to rotate AND the youngsters to develop. Watch this space......
Liverpool will not allow youngster Ovie Ejaria to leave Anfield on loan this summer – but could sell him permanently, according to Goal. The midfielder spent last season on loan with Rangers and Reading and his future on Merseyside looks bleak. Ejaria only signed a new deal last summer, prior to his switch to Rangers(Official Website), but he now looks set to be offloaded. Liverpoolwant to recoup £3 million for the services of Ejaria, with Brentford most recently linked with a move. Ejaria has been left out of the club’s trip to the USA, training with the club’s Under-23 outfit instead.
Jurgen Klopp says Liverpool aren't a club who can spend "crazy money" as the Reds await their first major signing of the summer. The Champions League holders acquired Sepp van den Berg from PEC Zwolle earlier this month, but the 17-year-old is not expected to feature in the first team next season. Liverpool have been linked with a host of potential targets but their squad remains largely unchanged from last term as they prepare for next weekend's Community Shield clash with Manchester City. And Klopp, who oversaw a £177m spending spree last summer, insists the club cannot match the financial muscle of some of their European rivals. "It's not easy,” the German told theLiverpool Echo. “I said last year that to improve the team is not easy with reasonable money. With crazy money, you always can do it – OK, you pay whatever you want, then it's possible. “We are not a club like that. We cannot do that. We are really wealthy but we cannot do what some other teams are doing. That's how it is. “But we don't have to. We have to find solutions during the season. Yes, you find sometimes the solution in the transfer market and we have done that. I don't have to name the players, everybody knows. https://www.fourfourtwo.com/news/jurgen-klopp-liverpool-transfer-news-signings-quiet-summer-crazy-money
Mbappe and Neymar to sign tomorrow for £300mill each. My reporter mate says Robben will be joining them too.
Liverpool's transfer dilemma and the 'one position' Jurgen Klopp must fill The Liverpool boss has spoken about possible transfer business for 'one position' - but which one? Three ECHO writers have their say https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/liverpool-transfer-news-jurgen-klopp-16639754
Think it’s same as it has been. If something comes up and is available we’ll go for it (Allison) but if not we’ll wait and go after number 1 target (vvd). If one of klopps targets, and we must have a large list, become available we’ll have the money to go after them.
So Clyne is out for a long time and wont even go for money now. That's a complete write off. Needed another RB before his injury
Marco Silva - delph isn’t a replacement for Guaye... 2 weeks later and after securing delph... everton accept 28m bid from psg for guaye
