Coulibaly isn't in the squad and doesn't qualify for a B place, ET.

Don't think that either would've been involved anyway, to be honest.
Kane, Townsend and Falque would appear to be ahead of them in the pecking order at the moment.

Bugger, am I right in thinking Coulibaly cannot play senior games this season in any competition? I seem to remember reading this was something to do with his age at time of transfer....

Whats you guys opinion of Kane? I know he has scored a lot of goals in spurs XI's etc but from what I have seen of him I am not he has what it takes?

I would rather see Gio play up front than Kane...

I think he can play in the domestic cups, ET.

Haven't seen enough of him to judge yet and I'm yet to see him play behind another striker at all, which is supposed to be his preferred role.
Dos Santos should be ahead of him at the moment, though.
As I've already suggested, we could go with Pav up top, Falque in behind him and Dos Santos and Townsend out wide.
Everyone in position, for a change.

And so Benny at left back? Risky, given how depleted we are.

Not sure what else we can do HD, unless Rose makes a miraculous recovery from whatever's wrong with him.
We could go with Bassong, Kaboul, Corluka, Walker if they're all fit, but that would be another risk altogether.

Townsend at LB as per Hearts leg 2?

spent the whole game getting shouted at by Bassong for being too far up the pitch but we were 5-0 up so maybe he would show a better positioning in this instance although obviously this is not his natural game..

He was good going forward, but there was an enormous gap at the back where he was supposed to be, understandably.
If we play him there though, who plays on the left wing?
Could put Dos Santos there, giving us the most open left side ever, stick Falque on the right and play Kane alongside Pav, I guess.

    Bloody injuries.

After seeing the team news and the squad on the BBC webby, I think the thread should be renamed "PAOK vs Spurs Academy"

Only Gomes, Carlo, Bassong, Charlie and Pav have experienced pubity!

The news that Corluka is fit has cheered me up considerably, it looks like we can patch together a defence now, although Townsend at LB (presumably) seems high risk.

Looking forward to the game anyway.

I believe Walker will play, and so Charlie could be Centre Half with Seb tonight?

Yep, that's my thinking. While I don't think Corluka is up to it as a Prem CB, he should cope better in Europe where his lack of heading ability may not be such an issue. (Not that I have a clue about PAOK, but I assume they won't be putting a lot of high crosses in). It also means we won't have to draft in a complete novice at this level, or field someone like Livermore there, who will be needed for the mid.

It also means we should have two fit RBs for Liverpool and Stoke, hooray.

Lot's of names being thrown around and now in the squad and reasons for this one and that one not going but can anyone please enlighten me and tell me why Bostock is not even considered or mentioned?
    Thanks in advance.

I think that he's just fallen too far down the pecking order.
He played as part of a very young Spurs XI against a fairly experienced West Ham XI on Monday in a 2-2 draw.
Spurs XI: Jansson; Barthram, Veljkovic, Nicholson, Stewart; Luongo, Parrett; Pritchard, Bostock, Ceballos; Lancaster.
West Ham XI: Boffin, Demel, Carney, Faye, Diop, Moncur, Sears, Juca, Nouble, Piquionne, Carew.

Guy Demel, Abdoulaye Faye, Papa Bouba Diop, Frederic Piquionne and John Carew have all represented their countries.

Saw that the other day PNP, that's a very good result in my eyes baring in mind West Ham had a team in which pretty much all of them have played 1st team football and some with international experience too.
