the one thing fifa really needs to sort out are those random moves and passes where the AI thinks it knows better than you... im talking those moments where i aim my pass to the guy on the far left and it will go to the man down the middle or worse the one on the far right. and that stupid standing tackle where you win the ball to find the player lost possession himself a split second before the challenge causing you to pass the ball the instant you touch it..

To all the guys complaining about FIFA, I implore you to try out PES. I find it a lot more fun.

The last PES i played was 2005. I intend to keep it that way. It's just a depressing game to play, i found it no fun cos it just seemed to revolve around running around players (the passing was ****ed).

Saying that, what harm can it do? Even if it's **** it'll just make FIFA all the more appealing...

Messi doesn't often use extravagant skills does he? Just godlike close control afaik. Many players are capable of fancy skills in real life, but if its not part of their regular game I'd prefer them not to have the ability in FIFA, since it'll be exploited and turn them into tricky players rather than how they usually play.

To be fair, have you seen how easy it is to go round players with Messi?

Also, PES was **** ever since they I saw they don't use the real names for the teams.

I find Sanchez much easier to beat people with than Messi! Ibrahimovic and Van Persie are just machines.

Also, people are moaning that finishing is now ****. No, you just don't know how to exploit it at the moment! Fifa 11 and 09 the finesse shot has 90% success rate. Unrealistically high. Fifa 10 had the LT and X lob. Worked every time pretty much. Just because you can't score every time you are through on goal now it doesn't make finishing ****. It makes it more realistic. The game has been made harder. If you're struggling, knock it down to World Class or Professional. Don't be a stubborn **** then bitch about it being hard. It was stated in the blog Calaye posted a few pages back they made it harder for a better Career. On every previous Fifa I crack it to World Class and win nearly every game over my first 4 seasons, 4th season ending with me winning the Premiership with *insert League 2 club here. Also playing in Europe in League 1.

What? Do you think they don't use the real names by choice? EA has bought pretty much any and all exclusive rights and licenses it can, which stops PES from being able to use many correct names, and dismissing an entire series of games completely because of something so superficial is just plain idiotic.

As for shooting, I don't know how it is on manual or assisted, but on semi LT shots seem to do well if you get the placement right. RT shots, for me, are either weak daisycutters, or just get skied.

So I should play PES because Fifa bought all the exclusive rights?

No, I'll play Fifa because they have all the exclusive rights. If PES don't have the names, then I won't play them. Presentation is the biggest bit of football games, with kits, names, players etc..

I didn't say that not having the rights was a reason to play it, I said that dismissing the entire series because they haven't got the licenses is ridiculous, which it is. Presentation is not the most important aspect of a football game, the gameplay itself is. Sometimes not having the rights to players/teams is actually a blessing, it allows PES games to have their Master League, which is far better than the FIFA career modes.

So you didn't play PES 6, which was by far the best football game on PS2? I feel for you bro :(

  17. What difficulty y'all playing on the Fifa 12 demo?

I'm beating professional all of the time now, but finding it difficult against world class, it's so much harder than Fifa 11. I could beat legendary teams in Fifa 11, world class teams score ridiculous goals.

Still in the middle of getting the hang of the finesse shots.

To complain about the change in ball physics (i.e. the shooting) on Fifa 12 is madness! Madness i say! It's made the game SO much more realistic! The shooting on Fifa 11 sceamed arcade-like, but it seems they've finally cracked it! Fifa 12 looks like its going to be much more of a simulation than Fifa 11, and a lot of the die-hard fifa gamers who are used to exploiting things like the finesse shot and 1-2's are going to have to completely re-wire how they play, albeit if they don't like it at first. I personally think its awesome! after 4-5 months of playing Fifa 11 the same old arcadey feel came in, especially when playing people online and your mates. I reckon Fifa 12 might actually deliver a proper footy sim this time! Like PES 6 felt when you first played that. I'm sure I've made this bold statement before though....
