Is this a throwback to when you guys were playing in the Champions League?
And Liverpool fans also took it upon themselves to blast the Catalan side over their petty remark.

The Reds turned around a 3-0 deficit with an epic 4-0 victory at Anfield to eliminate Barcelona from the Champions League last season.

"Literally the last club that should be talking about UCL after your shameful exits," tweeted one Liverpool fan.

Klopp complaining about the lack of rest his star players will have and of the fixture schedule already.....it doesn’t bode well.

    Add to the squad JK!!!

    Eriksen dealt transfer blow
Christian Eriksen faces staying at Tottenham this summer after Atletico Madrid cooled their interest.

Eriksen admitted he wanted to leave the club after the Champions League final, seemingly setting his heart on a move to Real Madrid .

The Dane has one year remaining on his current deal and Spurs are reluctant to risk losing him for nothing.

Atletico were reported to have made a move for Eriksen over the weekend having already snapped up his former Tottenham teammate Kieran Trippier this summer.

Fekir has finally moved... for 17.5m to real Betis

Seems a very odd one. Not only given the fact we nearly signed him for 50m last year (appreciate contract is expiring end of this season) but why the hell join Betis? Wouldn’t say they are any better than Lyon who at least play CL football. Was there no one else wanting to take a risk on him? Must have been something dodgy in that medical that really put people off buying him.

Barcelona have suffered more than one 'shameful exit' from Europe, their problem has been ongoing since 2017 and it's travel sickness. It's Stan Collymore, Jesus Navas travel sickness. Barcelona also need to play away first. That's the last time they qualified after getting a severe away battering. That was against PSG in 2017. They lost the away leg 4-0 and beat PSG 6-1 at the Nou Camp.

On both occasions when they played at home first 2018 and 2019, Roma and Liverpool , they went out. They lost 3-0 away to Roma and 4-0 away to Liverpool.

    Yasser Larouci injury update

Jürgen Klopp hopes the injury suffered by Yasser Larouci against Sevilla will not be as serious as first feared when the left-back was stretchered off.
Larouci was forced off the field in the 80th minute of the friendly at Fenway Park after a challenge for which Joris Gnagnon was shown a straight red card.
The 18-year-old will now require further assessment.
“[It’s] much too early in the season to create headlines with saying the things I think about the situation,” said Klopp at his post-match press conference.
“Let me say how the situation is with Yasser; it looks like he was lucky but, of course, how it always is with these things we have to wait a little bit. He couldn’t keep on playing, so that’s the first not-so-good sign but in the dressing room it was OK, similar how it looks to Harry [Wilson].
“Harry got a knock on his jaw and a finger in his eye, so not too cool. He should be OK as well but couldn’t carry on as well. That’s the situation.”
Asked for specifics on the Larouci injury, Klopp added: “He hit him full throttle and, in that moment, [if it was] a little bit different position where he hit him then it’s done. He rolls… he is a sports boy so that was OK, nothing happened there.
“I don’t know 100 per cent. It looks like he was lucky but I only spoke quickly to the Doc and that’s what he said, but we have to see.”

    I was.

Even in Salah's bumper year he only played well when the team played well. In our off games he went missing. By contrast in those games that season when the team went missing you could always see Mane was giving it his all and did well even when everyone else was sleeping.

Of the front three, Firmino is probably the best all round player, but would also be the easiest one to replace. He's good at a lot of things but isn't excellent at any one task. He's a good jack of all trades attacking midfielder playing in a forward role.

Salah is the most specialized player and probably couldn't be replaced like-for-like but I feel like there are other players out there who could improve us in other ways, even if they weren't as good at all the same things Salah was.

Mane is one of a kind. He may not be quite as fast or good at goal scoring as Salah, and he may not be quite as complete a footballer as Firmino but I don't think we'd easily find so selfless, determined a player of the same quality elsewhere that fills his role.

Salah is our "flashiest" player. He scores goals and looks good. Not necessarily the best, but looks the best on a highlight clip.

Really? I think Firm would be the hardest to replace. Name me another forward that will drop deep and defend from the front, link up play and chip in with 15 goals a season?

Salah is probably the easiest to replace in terms of style. Let’s be honest he’s a quick winger who makes runs inside the full back. Although he’s improved his game to also play centrally.

Reading are close to sealing the signing of Liverpool midfielder Ovie Ejaria on loan, the Chronicle understands.

Ejaria had an impressive spell at the Madejski last term and it is understood the club are in advanced talks to re-sign the former Rangers man.

The 21-year-old wasn't in the squad for a U23 game on Sunday for Liverpool despite scoring in the previous game, fuelling speculation that Ejaria may be leaving the club
