They’ll reject that I reckon. Can’t see them accepting £65m and a loan. If Nelson was on a perm then may be.
Yeah they probably will. I don't think he's worth any more than that tbh. £65m is a generous offer. I'd be willing to see us offer than plus Jenkinson and Elneny to get it over the line, but I don't want us to give them Nelson.
I hope they fecking do reject it The money they want for Zaha is outrageous and although I understand why they are commanding such an extortionate fee, I don't believe we should be moving heaven and earth to get him.
It’s hard to tell. To us neutrals no he ain’t but to Palace and the way the market is, plus the fact he’s HG, that premium fee is inevitable. He ****ed himself the moment he signed the new contract last summer. Opted for a short term gain (higher wage) over potential long term success (chance of moving to a better club).
He's a quality player and with Aubameyang one side, Zaha the other and Lacazette through the middle, we would have an incredible strike force. Just need a CB, LB, cover at RB and a CM now
Golden boy, mate. I don’t agree with the valuation either but he’s HG, Prem proven and one of the best players outside the top six, inevitable they’d want a crazy fee. Especially as they just got £50m for AWB.
As I've said on the Arsenal board Piskie, he is a very good player, but it is not worth spending 90% of our budget on him. I don't want us wasting all our time on Zaha when there are other wingers we can go for. If Palace rebuff this next offer for him, we seriously need to move on. We don't have time to persist on this.
I don't know Piskie, he's always a big fish in a small pond but I don't think he's capable of performing consistently at a higher level where the expectations and demands are greater. And his finishing is not consistent enough either.
What is out transfer budget even ? We supposedly only had £40m and we've spent £28m on Saliba, another £25 on Tierney and here we are bidding £65m for Zaha We've clearly got a few more beans stashed away that we weren't letting on. I don't think Zaha's worth the £80m that Palace value him at, but I do think he's a cracking player who would really improve us. £55m-£65m should be more than enough for him really. As for other wingers, Ziyech is available for £25m, but nobody is moving in for him, why is that ? Soares is another one, had a great Copa America, but how good would he be in the prem ? Zaha is proven in the prem, and we all know what he can do. If we can get him then I think we really should go for it. But the offer on the table is more than enough imo.
I disagree, he's hauled Palace's arse out of trouble time and time again. I think he's proven himself in the Prem and is ripe to make the step up. Personally I think he'd be a brilliant player for Arsenal.
As in he’s clearly too good for Palace. Making the step up with better players around him should, in theory take him up to the next level, which would make him a very dangerous player. Obvious nothings guaranteed, but I think he’s the Calibre of player we should be trying to get.
No doubt, if Palace fell for that dire ruse, you'd unload, mate. Even your own supporters find these tactics an embarrassment. As a comedian Gooner bloke said, on TalkShite this afternoon, Palace have said they want £80m for him, so either pay the £80 or fcuk off!
