The OP has a point. I'm (almost) as guilty as most for going off on a tangent- though I strenuously deny having engaged in any sexual activity with Sky, RHC or anyone else on here. I think if we've run out of on topic things to say we often descend to a bit of meaningless banter but tbh I find that amusing, like a pub conversation. However I can understand the frustration of someone who wants to discuss a genuine football topic and finds their thread wandering off into the general inanity of so many on here.
I think at the end of the day when a serious debate is going on it happens very successfully. I see the messing around as a bit of fun, and I believe it keeps the board active and keeps a good community spirit. The fact we have turned into banter heads just says to me we all get on and are able to have a laugh with each other. Match days etc is all about the game as it is when other topics come up such as transfers etc etc. A bit of light hearted banter is good for the site to honest, and makes the board tick along nicely. We don't have any users that just abuse the board and don't use it for it's main purpose, so I don't see the major problem. I am sure if an OP of a thread wanted to avoid any banter they could just say to keep it serious on the first post or the title and we would all happily oblige. I like the banter, as you can tell! But I can be serious too, so a good mix is what I think a forum should be about. You bunch of ****ing gays
i am not against banter but as you have all proved again on here,they start off fine then just degenerate.I think I will take temporary leave until dec then maybe there will be some serious discussion as the transfer window will be imminent.
Aaah don't go kph I always enjoy your input I know we're idiots but we're all Red idiots at least I know threads can degenerate but sometimes just posting your thoughts on the topic can reinvigorate the thread and get it back on track. Oh and feel free to give the worst culprits a good beating Ps....the threads during transfer window are just as bad but in a different way....by the middle of August I was exhausted from reading all the gossip threads
