You're right it does. They've put fake statues up before now do this seems very in keeping. They for sure won't sell any of those in the club shop.
Bruce, Pardew, Pulis, Allardyce and so on. A group of managers who no one wants at their club, they are known for terrible football and continue to get jobs. Between them they must have been at most clubs outside of the big 6
Said this on newkie board other day.. hodgson, lambert, houghton a few more who flirt around between bottom 10 in prem and top 10 in champ. Cycle of get sacked, join club fighting relegation. Make them survive after bounce affect for 10 games... back to relegation fight next season, sacked half season to go and new man repeats the above.
Don't know what will happen with Lampard at Chelsea but it's good to see new young managers coming through. I wonder if Newcastle did approach Gerrard as reported. We could have started a Gerrard vs Lampard discussion again on a whole new level.
Seems Mane doesn't think No6 is as big a thing as is made out https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/48959714 Senegal forward Sadio Mane says he would swap his Champions League winning medal with Liverpool for winning the Africa Cup of Nations on Friday. Senegal seek to win Afcon for the first time when they face Algeria in the final in Cairo, Egypt (20:00 BST). Mane helped Liverpool beat Tottenham to win the Champions League final on 1 June, and has three goals in five starts at the Africa Cup of Nations. "For sure, I would be ready even today [to swap]," Mane told BBC Sport.
True Geordie spot on..........you've gotta feel for those Newcastle fans. They know they had a great man in Rafa
I will bet his line of logic is that he is involved in a team that have been to 3 Euro finals in 4 years and he is likely to get to more either with Liverpool or Real Madrid Where as may not get close in AFCON again. I see his point
I don't think there's much, if any, logic in his thinking, it's all emotion. It highlights the big difference between how lots of foreign players are extremely patriotic and ours aren't or at least you don't feel that passion from them.
I know and totally agree but if I had said that I would not have been able to point out that we have been to 3 finals in 4 years - stealth wum lmao That said I know what the obv reply is lol
I completely agree. You only have to see the emotion on some of the faces singing the national anthems compared to ours. At least Southgate has made sure they all know the words now.
I think some players, especially those from poorer countries, are very emotionally attached to their birth places and would actually be happy just to have national honours. Talking about Mane specifically, although he kind of appears arrogant, he is quite humble.
