Jurgen Klopphas toldLiverpool supporters not to expect any significant additions to the squad in the transfer window. Liverpool were crowed European champions last season and finished on 97 points in the Premier League as they came second behindManchester City. The Liverpool manager pointed towards last year’s achievements and the club’s lack of financial muscle compared to City and Paris Saint-Germain as to why they should not expect big-money signings. “It will not be the biggest transfer window of LFC,” he told the club’s website. “We invested a lot in the team in the last two years, I would say. We cannot spend every year in the same manner.
Also if our targets are not available we will not buy for the sake of it and end up with 3rd choice ****e like before. I think we have 1 major target we are after. Depends if available and right price.
I've been waiting for dribs to post the latest Express link which goes something like 'Fekir agrees personal terms with Liverpool'
At the start of last season, nobody knew who Deligt or Joao Felix were. 1 year later they've been sold for almost 200M. We have a very good core of experienced but young players who are champions. This is the opportune time to bed in these talented youngsters before they blow up and we are forced to pay a ransom fee. Initially the plan was buy young and develop but we were forced to add quality to achieve trophies. Now we have to let Klopp work these young players as if their ceiling is as predicted, Hoever, Brewster, Van De Berg, the fulham lad and Larouci might save us loads.

All good points and very valid. However, you are not European champions and on the crest of a wave often. Failure to add real quality to the squad at such a time is a missed opportunity imo. City have a great squad and great youngsters and ya e still bought quality. There are only two reasons why we shouldn’t strengthen: 1) the right players were not available and 2) we can’t afford the right players (I think we can) I totally support bringing the kids through but it should be a blend of new kids and newly purchased talent.
City have an ageing squad hence the need to replace. Remember they only signed Mahrez last season. Sometimes squad balance is very important and any signing will curtail the growth of the team. For any signing to make sense IMO some bodies have to move and I see Klopp keeping the same lot while promoting youth.
Klopp seems to like to take his time which is working well. Under him we've had no panic buys and no off piste buys. He has a sound and recognisable strategy which just happens to be very frustrating for the fans.
90m plus 2 of 6 players (cout, dembele, rakitic, Malcom, Semeda and one other unnamed) Not s bad deal if take cout and dembele
