I’m not enjoying any of this situation RP - although I do get a kind of grim satisfaction when my predictions come true - but the satisfaction doesn’t last long - a bit like after a fight with the wife, when you’ve been proved right, but the damage is done and you have to try and fix it.
The whole Brexit and political debacle is like coming across a serious car crash with monkeys trying to clear it up - shocking and horrible but I can’t take my eyes off it.

I feel like a GE is the only possible way to break this weird stalemate, but then it's likely that it will just end up in another hung parliament. We're just stuck aren't we! At least watching Boris send us down the s***ter will be entertaining. Out of a terrible bunch (be it Labour or Tory) he's right at the bottom, the guy hasn't got a clue.

The upside of this is when we are out, we are out, there is no going back, no if's, no maybe's, we are out, on our own, masters of our own destination, the horizons will be our own and belong to us.

We either all pull together, accept the blindingly obvious, join forces, become a single nation with one desire and all working in harmony or we sink into oblivion and feel sorry for ourselves, I can't see this happening, a short period of re adjustment, settling down, getting use to being independent, making our own decisions, this will lead to upward growth, the EU will want to do business with us, whether it's under WTO or a negotiated trade deal, they need us as much as we do them, the rest of the world beckons and we can become just like Japan, South Korea, Australia a global trading nation able to compete with who ever, wherever, whenever we wish and dance to our own tune.

Our freedoms, politics, laws, rights, religons and way of life will continue as usual, just like they always did, controlled by the British Nations.

Whilst I don’t agree with stopping Parliament to allow Brexit to go through they’ve had enough time to do it themselves and have failed, MP’s are up in arms at the thought of their views being ignored, but are happy for the voters voices being ignored, remember we voted to leave, If it’s the only way to allow it to go through then stop Parliament, maybe the threat to do so will encourage them to sort something out.

A GE will most likely still produce a hung parliament and get us nowhere, I’m afraid stopping Parliament, however unpalatable it may seem, to allow a no deal Brexit is going to prove the only way through this mess

There is definitely an irony to this though. Those who shouted loudest about democracy and the supremacy of Parliament, are now backing Boris Johnson to actually suspend Parliament - you couldn't make it up.

You and others who lost in the referendum are loving it.
It's the only way you will win and democracy will lose.

Another who loves muddying the water.
We, who won, 'shouted' not to be ruled by Brussels.
You're getting totally mixed up, no doubt deliberately, with who/what Parliament is and the meaning of a referendum.
Parliament for ffs, gave the country a referendum.
Their job, after giving a referendum is to uphold the result.
    Nothing else.
Certainly not to then renege on their promise to implement the outcome.

Your team lost, get over it.
Like the fair minded democrats did in '75.

Actually you're talking about two different points. You're right, the country answered in a referendum, and wanted to leave. I make no bones about that.

What I don't get, is that those who shout about democracy, are now happy for Boris to close down our Parliament (i.e. our democratic representation) for the longest session since WWII, then leave without a deal, probably the biggest thing to hit the country since WWII (good or bad), and then ensure there is no sitting Government to deal with it for eight weeks!

Whether you're remain or leave, that is really, really ****ing daft. Even if you're pro-leave, surely you want a government to deal with it promptly when we're out. How is shutting down Parliament so that they can't have a say democratic?

That said, if it's the only way to get no deal through, I can see why leavers back it. It's just a bit hypocritical - which can be said of both sides to be fair.

I don’t like closing Parliament, I hate it , but it’s the only way I can see through the mess.

Some remain MPs are deliberately blocking Brexit and will do at any cost as they see it as a way to stop i. They cannot be allowed to deliberately block the will of the people, so whilst unpalatable it’s the only way to stop them playing politics, i would prefer for MPs to fond a way through , which I believe they could if it wasn’t for the ‘blockers’

In terms of deciding Brexit, yeah of course. But a no deal Brexit opens up it's own subsequent mess.... This isn't going to end. It's just down to whether you believe that mess is worth it or not.

I have to say, that IMO the people decided to leave....that's what should happen, with a deal or without a deal.
May had three years to sort it, but parliament wasn't interested.....Corbyn & Abacus isn't interested, Lib Dems isn't interested, Green party isn't interested..It seems any deal offered it's rejected..so where does that leave us?
The Country voted to leave the EU....that's what the Country should have.....
Even if we left without a deal....the Country would have it's wishes......we need to move on and stop going around in circles....which we will for ever more!

If proroguing parliament get's the molasses of the remoaning MP's who are using every slimey trick in the book to keep us handcuffed to the EU works, so be it.

They are the ones who told us the majority we were to thick, to uneducated to know what we were voting for, then they used project fear to frighten us, you know, economic meltdown within days if we voted leave, unemployment like a tidal wave when all the large companies closed down and moved back to Europe, world war 3 and the breakdown of communities, it never happened in fact our economy has improved and we have the lowest unemployment for a generation.

We the great uneducated, thick, unwashed still know the score, we want out, we voted out, they could not frighten us, we have been steadfast, if Boris or Jeremy Hunt keep to their words and stick to their guns and take us out they will be on a winner, the snake Corbyn and his turncoat, flip flopping ways will be easily defeated at the next GE, people won't forget that he is a liar and he betrayed his manifesto.

There will be a lot of leftie MP's queuing up at the job centre after the next GE and I welcome it and getting out.

Bercow can block proroguing Parliament. It won't happen - it's just Boris talking more nonsense to try and get the top job.

    It doesn't matter.
    No strings or proviso.
You either believe in democracy or don't.

If closing Parliament is the only option then so be it.
    Parliament gave us the referendum.
    The referendum therefore trumps Parliament.
Parliament can't give it and take it away because they don't like to honour their pledge to honour the outcome.

I can't tell you how much I am against your, R&W's, Corbyn's and Mrs Abbott's view of democracy.
And it's nothing to do with voting red or blue it's just democracy.

You can’t tell me what I feel RP. Only I know that. Just like I can’t tell you how YOU feel.

The referendum went the opposite way (just) to the way I voted - and I’m pissed off.
When I see Honda closing (apparently nothing to do with Brexit - just a coincidence they are relocating to the continent) I feel pissed off
When I see my holiday costing 50% more I’m pissed off
When I look at the calibre of potential ‘leaders’ we have guiding us through these troubled times I feel pissed off
Whenever I hear the word ‘Brexit’ I’m pissed off
Whenever I consider the breakup of the United Kingdom I’m pissed off
    I’m pissed off
I’m pissed off with my defeat.
I hope you are enjoying your victory.

I just want this debacle to end so I can pick up the pieces and resume my life.

For what it’s worth I think we will Brexit next April, after a General Election. If Boris holds one immediately then none of his supporters will have had time to realise what an utter liability he really is and he would win a landslide.
Corbyn is arguably worse than Boris with his anti-British views.
I’m VERY pissed off - please don’t tell me I’m happy because I’m not.

    None of this is good.
