This is the pragmatic point. we'd have won the league with him last year, imo. Those games against Uniturd and the Blueshite were we dropped points against defensive walls was just crying out for his flair. But realism is this - does Klopp want him?
Is it time to troll the Barca fansites again, asking them to release him to follow his dream to play for a bigger club?
Liverpool transfer news LIVE: Klopp confirms Mignolet to stay, left-back move not ruled out, Rangers told to be patient over Kent Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp insists second-choice goalkeeper Simon Mignolet is staying at the club this season. The Belgian is back-up to Alisson, who starred in his first year at Anfield, and has expressed concerns about the amount of playing time he will get in future. But his attitude and professionalism last season was praised by Klopp and his backroom staff and the manager said he will be staying this summer. “Yes, (it's) how I've heard,” said the German, when asked whether Mignolet will remain at the club. “I've had a lot of conversations in the last couple of years, months – not weeks. Before we left (for the summer break) we had talk. I would say yes (he stays). “At a club like Liverpool you need two number ones in the club and we have that with Ali and Simon. “It's a good situation for the club and a situation you should have and that's why everything is fine from my point of view.” Kenny Dalglish says Rangers will have to be patient over Ryan Kent and reckons the youngster could yet force his way into the Liverpool squad this season. Jurgen Klopp's reason for refusing to sell Liverpool's Dejan Lovren to AC Milan Liverpool won’t sell Dejan Lovren to AC Milan for less than £25million - and there’s a good reason why, according to latest reports from Italy. Lovren is far from a certain starter atLiverpool, with Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip all centre-half options for Jurgen Klopp’s side. But despite Lovren’s limited game time, there is one big reason why Liverpool boss Klopp is determined to keep him at the club - the 30-year-old’s leadership qualities.
When he was in the team it all went through him and he dictated the play a lot, the team has learned since he left that each and everyone of them can influence the game and that is why we open teams up now as anyone could make that pass or run of have that shot. For example When Coutinho was in the team the left full back would make the run and then stop and play into Coutinho and the other midfielders would always look for him why would we go back to that? It's what made it difficult when teams sat back against us.
He wouldn't have only played against those two sides though so maybe his involvement would have seen us drop points elsewhere?
If it's a loan deal it may make sense because he'll already know where he fits in and what's expected but if it's a buy back I don't think Klopp will be interested. Klopp's all about moving forward and bringing through the youngsters. Coutinho just doesn't fit his plan. Like mito, I believe there is a plan. We've seen how Klopp goes for his targets and doesn't settle for alternatives or second best.
There's the rub. I'd prefer someone else in his mode - we simply haven't got his creativity - yet. I'd like to see Trent have a few outings in midfield, and not just on the flanks. I think his best is yet to come. But I'd still prefer Ford to nobody at all.
He went on strike twice I cant see any way back for him. I also can't see where he plays I cant see him in the midfield 3 as Klopp likes 2 box to box midfielders and one holding. Other option is back up to Mane and Salah which isn't ideal either.
