Morning all. Off to Edinburgh for a meeting this morning then down to Newcastle tonight for another one in the morning. The jet set life Enjoy your day everyone!
Morning all. A very comfortable 20°C outside at present, but with the clear blue sky it is expected to warm up later. Still on bottled water for drinking at present, but the water supply coming out of the tap seems to be back to full pressure. All this travelling that some are doing would take a little longer if we lived in an Amish community. No jets for them. I will be going as far as the recycling centre today having turned out a whole heap of cardboard boxes. This modern world says that I need a card that can be scanned to prove that I am not taking stuff to a centre outside my department. I went to one in Dorset last year, and the only thing you didn't have to pay to dispose of was garden waste. Here although recycling rates are very high, 85% they say, it has become an expensive operation since the landfill sites have been largely closed down. Enjoy whatever you are doing.
Morning all from an overcast but dry rural France. It looks as if there is some rain up there, but none is forecast. I noticed yesterday that large cracks are starting to appear in the fields through lack of it and the very hot days. The message has been put up on the website that our drinking water from the tap is now safe. I will save my Hobgoblin that is in the fridge for another day. Enjoy your day whatever you plan to do.
Morning all. Bright blue sky with just a few white fluffy clouds hanging around. Good temperature to be outside doing things at the moment and the forecasters say it will not get too hot today. Everything is very peaceful this weekend and rather different to when I lived in England. Six am and the helicopters would be overhead flying in to Silverstone. There were more air traffic movements than at Heathrow airport. Along with the road closures life was disrupted, but for one weekend in the year most were happy to put up with it.
Morning all. Bright and warm with one of those French blue skies. There are reports in the press about the number of Frelons Asiatiques found in the area. They can cause havoc to the local bee keepers who can lose an entire hive if they get in. It happened to one of my neighbours, but he was lucky enough to restock his hives by collecting a large bees nest from a tree on the edge of the village. Hope you all enjoy your day.
Good morning all.. A day channel grazing today with the main emphasis on Lords and the start of Silverstone. Yesterday was spent hard grafting doing a deep clean of mlles Leeds apartment as she is getting a new lodger. For periods of time Mlle ,24, could not cope and retreated to her phone and bed.. Whilst Yorkie and Mme degreased kitchen washed floors and walls deep cleaned bathroom exposed hidden erm rltreasures under beds etc.. All forgotten with a lovely meal at a local French restaurant with some good wine followed by Killing Eve...
Morning all from a lovely sunny Bastille Day. Started in 1880 it has been celebrated every year since all over the country, and go through any small town and you will see flags flying from public buildings. I wonder who supplies all of these flags as each year they look very new and clean? I expect they are made in China.
