wishi - I sent you a private message - I'm fairly new to this site so I may have messed up and actually sent it to myself - not expecting a reply to it, but let me know if it reached you just so I know that I did manage to sent it correctly. Will you be pleased if FT scores against utd?
Do you think that the comments from Torres was simply what he has heard from his manager, AVB, and that his team mates know it...!!! The lad is frustrated by not scoring, he should be its his job, and maybe its the start of chelsea geting there act together. If chelsea get him scoring then its going to be harder for us to get into the top 4, and thats what we have to get this year...!!! Torres is so out of form its easy to have a go at him, and rightly so the way he is performing. But like the poster said earlier, he nearly scored a hat-trick...!!! Please... Im not really bothered about his transfer deal now, we have to move on. He's gone, weve moved on and we should just be worried about our team and where we are going... Keep the faith with the mighty Red Men...!!!
No need for the personal abuse I just don't think the article is any good, I don't see why you're taking that personally. Most pundits and people who watched football believed that Dalglish had been out of the job too long, even some older Liverpool fans were sceptical about seeing him come back after the way his team had deteriorated so quickly from the title winning team of 1987-88 to the shadow of that team which was playing at the start of the 90s. He had made a succession of poor signings in the later stages of his time at manager of Liverpool. King Kenny coming back and winning us trophies wasn't a guaranteed thing at the time, there were a lot of columnists around that time claiming it was the squad's fault and that Kenny would do no better than Hodgson did, so I don't see why Torres would stay on the basis that Kenny had won trophies 21 years or so ago with Liverpool and that he might win trophies. Even if Torres rated Kenny as a manager, he was looking at one and a half years (mininum) outside of the champions league, by which time he would be 29, and wouldn't have much time left in his career to win the trophy he's dreamed of winning all his professional career. Torres is a ruthless player, he wants to win, he left his boyhood club for Liverpool to win things, how can you begrudge him leaving us when he'd left his boyhood club to win things, what made you think he'd wait around for us while we were in turmoil, if he didn't even wait around for Atletico? Some Liverpool fans need to start facing up to how poor we've been over the last 2 years, and understand that Alonso, Mascherano, Torres and Meireles aren't all greedy bastards, and that they left because we couldn't fulfill their ambitions. Its the same reason they joined us and left their previous clubs, because they felt they could win trophies here unlike at their old clubs. Oh and its 'Were', not 'where'. I'd expect an author to know better.
Posted this ages ago. I wouldn't have him back either. When Liverpool signed Torres in the 07/08 season for approx 25 Million the fans had their new idol their new number 9 and they idolised him almost instantly. In his first season he became the first player since Robbie Fowler in the 1995/96 season, to score more than 20 league goals for Liverpool in a season. Unfortunately since then it has been a downward spiral the 08/09 season his overall goal tally had dropped from 33 to 17. The next season Torres increased his overall goals to 22. Injury had become a problem and only 9 goals following in the 10/11 season followed by 1 at new club Chelsea. Torres was already looking a haunted figure by the time he moved on to Chelsea and in hindsight Liverpool had done well to get such a high fee for a player that had not performed in nearly 3 years. 3 years is not a dip in form, there has to be more to this dramatic decline. In Torres first season at Liverpool the whole world sat up and paid attention, here was the next big thing a player who had it all. He would score from anywhere and in any way, defenders were terrified. Can Villas Boas change Torres fortunes is the big question, if he can then silverware will follow Villas Boas own success may rely on finding the real Fernando Torres.
johnsonsbaby. Were you on the old 606? your name sounds familiar. Dubious personal messages to wishi eh? You'll have to get in the queue and watch out for Mr Wishi - he's the one with a baseball bat
You answered for me mito. Are you watching the progress of your fave player since his departure..................not Torres N'Gog? (Scored 2 for Bolton Reserves last night!)
OOPS! Bggr! I can only say I edited it in a hurry! You abused my post. You might not agree with it but I didn't ask you to read it or even comment; and I take it you don't want Dalglish as our manager? Well, tough tty we've got him, and he's an improvement on that loser Hodgson. Torres is ruthless all right - so ruthless he's relying on his team mates to do the winning for him. No doubt he'll get the medals he craves for, by hook or by crook. As for us having problems, we all know it, we've said so, we don't need it pointing out. We know we're not out of the woods yet. JB, haven't got your message yet. Will I be happy if Torres scores against the sc*m? I don't think he will. Hello, MITO, I gave that cow AE as good as I got! I was gutted when N'gog left!
Got the message, JB, I thought perhaps it would drop into my personal email but obviously it doesn't. Anyway I've replied.
Lucaaas, no one can begrudge him leaving but the manner in which he left was appalling and insulting. Firstly a month before he vowed to see out his contract and how he loved the club bla bla then he wants out 3 days before the transfer window shuts which royally ****ed up kks plans! Then when he does leave we get all the 'Chelsea is a bigger club' ****. he could have easily given Kenny the benefit of the doubt and left during the summer to a non rival team like barca but señor sulky had to have it his way.
Gooooooaaaaaaaaaaal! Sorry Benfica just scored just when i was about to type. Torres said he felt left out in the Spain camp in regards to success when everyone around him were winning trophies at their Clubs, he got the move to try solve this problem but unfortunately for him he is now not getting into the Spanish squad. A lot of karma is going his way and like others have said...he made his bed now he's sleeping in it and its now turning into a coffin. Now I'm off to the Utd banter thread to gloat. x
For me Torres needs to be the lone man playing with a quick burst counter attacking team, Chelsea are not this, they smoother teams. I send before last season started to my mate that I would cash in on him and buy two forwards (as you did in Jan). Torres will not go back to Liverpool, I reckon he will be back in Spain (Barca) who can play to his strengths
The salutory lesson from the whole Torres affair is one that many of us have not yet learnt. Footballers come and go, we should appreciate them and enjoy them whilst they are here BUT we should resist the hysteria with which WE surrounded Torres. No player is bigger than Liverpool Footgall Club
I know your trying to talk sense here, but he couldn't perform with with the whole Spanish squad behind him. The guy has expired.
Torres belongs in a particular grouping when it comes to Liverpool players. He's in a list that contains Paul Ince, Michael Owen and El Hadji Diouf, they played for the club...and thats it.
wish i..... dunno what happened there with you but I'm well past it. some people i like stayed there and didn't look for our wunter location so ok thats up to them. fordeck is right. torres was hysteria and liverpool are bigger than one player and stevie g would do well to realise it on his return. jb...... i'm glad he found his true level in a lesser clubs reserve team which is akin to league one action....
Tbh, I'm not sure. It's one of those games that i want both teams to lose, which isn't possible. I usually cheer (if you can call it that) for whoever is losing because a draw is ultimately the best result.
