Details on implementation? She obviously has not looked to see that the 200 mile exclusión zone would extend to the west coast of Ireland, thus excluding Irish fishermen from their waters, to the Elbe, the Rhine at Cologne, the Seine around the Paris región. It will be fun to see the Brexit party trying to do this.
You can probably add geography to the list of things these idiots (where do they get them from?) know absolutely nothing about.
You can bet their stupidity will not be reported in the Express, who, at the same time are quick to jump on anything uttered by Diane Abbott. PS: The Express is a paper that should be hauled over the coals so to speak as it uses language that inflames people´s emotions. It makes the Mail look the voice of reason, and that in itself, is a considerable achievement.
If you look down the Twitter thread, that point is made, also that currently 80% of the fish our fisherman catch is exported... to the EU. The other point that wasn’t mentioned is that more than two-thirds of the UK’s fishing quotas are held by just 25 businesses, with over half of Northern Ireland’s quota held by just one trawler. This Greenpeace article details the fishing quota scandal, which has been well-known by those spouting Leave propaganda for years, but they chose to tell the public barefaced lies yet again: https://unearthed.greenpeace.org/2018/10/11/fishing-quota-uk-defra-michael-gove/
The press needs it’s wings clipped in this country. Whilst a free press is important, there must be basic standards of decency and integrity surely? And who are the British Press free from anyway, when they all do the bidding of their billionaire proprietors? I see George Osborne (now editor of the evening standard), is defending the undermining of the British Ambassador to Washington.
You need to get on Question Time when it comes to your área of the country and put the point to whoever is on the panel, if allowed. All we can do is keep fighting for our right to remain an EU country. So if the can is kicked down the road beyond 31 October, or a forthcoming referéndum is in the process of being conducted, we remain hopeful.
No wonder his wife wants a divorce. On a serious note wasn´t he on some billionaire´s yacht a few summers ago holidaying alongside Peter Mandelson? Such a snake!!!
Ursula von der Leyen, most probably the next President of the EU Commission, has already said she would be happy to extend the deadline again. Let’s hope Parliament forces Boris to ask for an extension, while a referendum is held.
To be fair I think she was referring to the main fishing areas and they tend to be just north of Northern Ireland upwards.............(From my Fishery protection years)
Guys the Mail headline is reading that Trump destroyed the Iran nuclear deal out of Spite. Would he be that stupid? I hesitate to ask whether he would do that out of spite...........but would he?? Is he really so narrow minded?? If he is god help the world.............
Probably part of it. Doubt it was the whole reason though. In buisness and politics people rarely make a big decision for one reason. Makes him look strong, creates an enemy to fight which populist leaders need, by making Iran into an enemy it also makes Obama and co look weak for not fighting thenselves. Takes the attention and headlines off other issues. Justifies his extra military expenditure. Probably some oil related motives though I've not paid much attention to the economics of this one. Probably more than that but that's enough reason for trump to try and destroy a country and sanction UK buisnesses.
What they have done to Iran has the smacks of what they did to Japan all those years ago. Forcing Japan to join the war in WW2. Someone is going to have a go at them soon....surely.......they are just bullying tactics.
Yes he is that narrow minded. He exudes the symptoms of a narcissistic psychopath. Sadly, our probable next prime minister shows similar tendencies. Dangerous times, note how the checks and balances in respective constitutions are being challenged by both. There are no limits when you look in the mirror and never have doubts.
I hesitate to 'normalise' my reaction to anything that Trump does or says, because 90% of it is simply outrageous. But his decision to apparently destroy the Iran deal out of spite does not surprise me in the slightest. The way he phrases his motivations and denials, you can tell he has not one scintilla of ordinary human decency. For Trump to like or just respect a colleague, a diplomat, a politician, means nothing. It has no validity whatsoever, other than what is beneficial to him in the moment of declaring it. The guy is a truly terrible example of a human being with high responsibility. In my lifetime, no individual has so misrepresented the office of president of the USA. Nixon is closest otherwise, but Trump is regularly shockingly bad. So, destroy a nuclear deal? No problem.
