What sort of attitude is that mate - of course it matters a lot which badge we have. Why not just change the club's name into Quarter Pound of Rubbish - who really cares ? Perhaps you are not old enough to remeber the old badge, belonging to generation Facebook not caring about tradition but there are certainly other people around that do care.
Or maybe he is someone who has been following the club for 30 years home and away , season ticket holder and love Rangers with a passion.....but just doesnt give a F###, LIKE ME, about whether we use this new badge or the second from last one (Because i'm old enough to remember my favourite the one before). Same usually happens when a club gets a new ground, same old B####x about tradition etc etc. Get with the times, things change and things move on. Get over it fella !! The OP does have a right to his opinion without you slagging him off about not knowing tradition
Staines chill out, you are conradicting yourself. You say... 'The OP does have a right to his opinion' . And so does everyone else. and... 'but just doesnt give a F###, LIKE ME, about whether we use this new badge or the second from last one' Some people do give a F### though.
Sorry mate i cant see the contradiction in what i said. EVERYONE has a right to an opinion, BUT the assumption that just 'cos the OP has a certain opinion means he has no respect for tradition is totally out of order. but then again....thats just my opinion
I can't quite understand why some people are always harking back to the past whether it be popular players that are passed their sell-by date, a famous old Stadium that nonetheless is obsolete or even a crest that we used to have. Out with the old players in with the new, hopefully plan for a new Stadium and for fu*ks sake keep the new crest!!
Yerrr and antiques roadshow it's all rubbish I agree even this thread is rubbish bin it yesterday was rubbish Elvis, Pele, Nic Kershaw All rubbish and past it I'm with Swords The Tomorrow People with our Jaulting belts is where it's at Even a stopped clock tells the right time twice a day
As i said in my first post i welcome change and moving forward otherwise we may be a League one team now or worse. Staines don't give a f##k about the badge but others do and we should respect those views as well. For me i think the new badge is s##t and reminds me of the flashness of FB. For me a badge is a symbol, part of our tradition and shouldn't change like the weather. I see many symbols/logo's, military, company, that have lasted for hundreds of years and are easily recognisable, so why do we need to change? The reason we changed ours was because some muppet that knew nothing about our club decided to put his usless mark on something which just happened to be our badge. I agree some people like the new badge but for me and many others its not the badge for QPR. However as i said i would rather deal with on the pitch issues first and hopefully in the not to decent future we can dump it in the bin.
Good post Newbury Hoops, by the way I have a pal who lives in Coldash Hill, do you know where that is if you do live in Newbury?
I didn't mean for this post to be taken so seriously, I think people are missing my point or have at least not understood the slightly cynical view I am taking To be clear, I hope people can understand MY opinion; I care very much about tradition, stadium, club, badge etc. But with such recent turbulence (has another team endured such a roller coaster last 15 years?!), I was just getting the impression that people were losing perspective of who we are. We are a small club, like it or not, in terms of support and stadium size. We are fortunate to be back where we are, and with the future looking so bright I just can't believe that there are people still finding stuff to bitch about. Some people will only be happy when they are complaining, but guess that will always be the case in all walks of life. Whatever happens to the badge, stadium etc I will always give unconditional support the real super hoops ;-)
