Can i just say for the record that i supported Bruce from the start and my oppinion of him as a manager (not as a person) has been shaped this way by what i have seen him do! My best pal has never given him a chance and hated him from the start and it was me who was having arguments with him fighting Bruces corner but i simply can not justify this anymore!
Its not just about playing people out of position either, its also about his clear lack of tactical decision making and his appearence on the touchline among other things! Mate i want a manager who when the chips are down hes not afraid to grab the game by the scruff of the neck and make a good sensible substitution at the right time and look like hes interested too instead of standing there with his hands in his pockets head down DEFEATED before the final whistle is anywhere near!!! If your happy with mediocraty then i guess well have to agree to dissagree!
What if we win the next 3 are all the Bruce out brigade/doubters going to get off his ****ing back and give him a break. Works both ways Marras.
Yeh, of course we will, were on his back cos hes doing **** and clueless, if he somehow turns this around then we would have no reason to be on his back would we? I dont expect us to win every game but i do expect total commitment and drive from players and management and thats not what were seeing!
why, you aint. cant see one person blindly backing Bruce and TBH insulting those who dont want Bruce out today kills your thread before it starts
Some will never accept Bruce due to his Geordie roots. Some stated on here that Bruce deliberately threw the Newcastle game. If you believed that, would you ever be able to back him again? I know if I thought for one second that Bruce had even the slightest inkling of throwing that match I'd want him out. No matter what.
Infact ive been very honest in admitting i was a Bruce believer for a long time but have changed my mind based on his whole time here and not just this season! I have insulted NO one personally and have been objective! Ive obviously struck a nerve with you, could it be that like me you have backed Bruce all the way but now realise he isnt up to the job however the difference is that i can realsie it and admit it and you cant?
If on SOME you are refering to me then off course i dont think he fluffed the derbys!!! Also i had no problem with him being a geordie whatso ever and have stated this so get off ya high horse mate!
Listen, when i started this thread i realised there would be a lot of people who still back bruce commenting and i certainly do not wana fall out with anyone of my fellow supporters however i am just giving my oppinion and others are getting irate about it! Come on Cestriamackum, back me up here, i need some help hahaha! Peace!
You started the thread and asked to be truthfull well look at my thread earlier and i think i am. What i can't stand is the negativity after 4 games i am a bruce fan but questions need to be asked not just of Bruce but also the club why was the money not sanctioned for the palyer that wanted to sign deadline day but we could not raise the funds (if true). Its funny we now have the money and the shops shut We have a player suspended and our defence is in disarray as we don't know who's fit and who isn't Ill say again come on Bruce get the players up for it and the crowd will follow
Correct, the club do take some responsability for not reinvesting the money taken for Bent and Hendo sales however a good manager at the very least should be able to work with what he has and not make excuses and at the bear minimum get them up for a game and himself look up for it!
As far as i can see Bruce has not made excuses this season, yes last year he blamed a horrendous injury list. Bardsley although our player of the season could cost us dearly for his stamping on Mata and the club should fine him hard
Who says i am happy with mediocrity? so if I back bruce I: 1. am blind 2. I am happy with mediocrity ? Someone would say that was insulting. You missed one of my questions - I presume you didnt ignore it deliberately? BoBs are pointing to last seasons 2nd half slump and this seasons "poor" start as reasons for wanting Bruce out. They point in particular to Bruce: 1. lack of tactical awareness 2. Playing players out of position 3. Defeatist attitude So my main question is: How has Bruce changed, as a manager, since the 1st half of last season when we were flying? the question can be broken down into 3 smaller ones Has Bruce's tactical awareness changed, has he lost it? Has he started playing players out of position, or was he doing that already? has his attitude changed? My answer to those would be no, he is doing the same as he always has done. The only conclusion I can think of then, is to say Bent leaving and injuries caused the slump last season and this seasons poor* start is players still bedding in and the lack of a replacement for Bent. Gyan being a greedy ****er wont help us or Bruce either. Btw, Not finding a replacement for Bent cant be blamed on Bruce if no players of his calibre were available, especially if we had targets but our offers were not accepted or the players turned us down. I am not saying Bruce is perfect, and I am not saying better managers dont exist but the BoB's reasons for wanting him out are flawed (imho). I also trust Quinn to make the right decision at the right time, and if Bruce needs sacking he will do it (probably around January time if we havent put points on the board). Apologies for the long post, couldnt put my thoughts down in less words than that... (*A point against liverpool away isnt bad in my book, nor is a defeat against chelsea + derby games are always unpredictable)
dansafcman You miss the point mate. Don't you see, the tenth place finish was "lucky". The injury's played absolutely no part in our second half season form. Bruce deliberately threw the Newcastle game. Bent and Gyan left because of Bruce. We will get relegated unless Bruce goes....
We finished 10th, that means we were the 10th best team in the league and its bull**** if you think injuries played no part in our poor finish to the season.
