Plus the podcast...or has Crouch finished that now? I've just finished season 1 and it is very enjoyable.

Can fully appreciate why some wouldn't be keen on Wells, but my gut feeling is that he'd fit into MW's style of football much better than he did under SMc.

I'm with you on Wells, never seen anyone playing striker so heavily vaccinated against getting in the oppositions box.

I'd be happy if Crouch were to return, he could still stick a few away, and the squad or group or whatever they are called these days look like they need lightening up a bit - he'd do that all right.

I am slightly surprised that we have signed both Rangel and Cameron.

When fit they played well and they do do have very large experience. But I hope that they do not keep a younger player out of the team who should play and develop.

I will need to see and assess how they are used.

I don't understand how we're signing these players and stating within FFP rules.

A few in this thread have commented that they are getting vaguely excited at this season yet again.

For those who decided not to renew STs, surely it is time to reconsider?

One way to fight FFP is to support the club through thick and thin - as many of you have done and continue to do.

Perhaps in the near future, Roller will issue an updated article on how we are continuing to balence our acccounts to be in line with the FFP.

I understand that we have an will have a negative "gap" between our revenues and costs, which means that out business model depends on selling our young and developed players. However, they need to play in the first team and to perform.

It will be be very interested to see what teams MW chooses and how he will blend youth with experience so that we can grow and develop our young players.

I am quite looking forward to next season.

For me my season ticket is a permanent thing regardless of whether I think the team will do well or not.

I can only imagine that we are sticking within our budgets by not only selling the high earners but also by having the likes of Mass available for transfer......….along with any other high earner.
We have also had a large transfer fee coming in so maybe just maybe we are doing things correctly.

You couldn't make it up! They have have spend week in Austria warming up and swimming, and we already have a long injury list before the first pre-seaon game!

New signings Matt Smith and Lee Wallace have picked up injuries on QPR’s pre-season trip to Austria.
On-loan Manchester City midfielder Smith (pictured) is nursing a minor thigh problem.
Defender Wallace, a recent signing from Glasgow Rangers, has a hip problem.
Both players will miss Friday’s friendly against Austria Vienna along with Ilias Chair and Lewis Walker.

Read on the Official that Chair had suffered a concussion, was Ok, but couldn't play due to "protocols" and Walker had thigh strain.

I think you get a lot of muscle strains when you start intensive hard training again, and the training coaches won't want risk making minor strains worse playing a meaningless friendly. Let's hope they are just minor strains needing some rest. My son got shin splints when he started traing again for last season, and I know from when I had them that they are nasty and need weeks of rest and slow rehab before you can run full speed again.

We can put to bed the Peter Crouch rumours as he has just announced his retirement aged 38. Not a bad innings for a forward.

Oslo, you are fully correct and am I admit was slightly provocative. :)

However you would expect professional football staff to know how to ramp up training plans in a “safe” manner after a summer break.

I agree that these may only be small “niggles” which are to be expected, but it sound almost like players being injured during the pre-match warm up in the pitch!

I hope that all come back well trained, fit and motivated, and not all injured!

Agree...trouble with small niggles is that it is all too easy to rush back from time out too soon, which only leads to further minor injuries.

Who are these small Nigels that people are talking about? Are they strikers?
