Haas had a bank guarantee on the Rich Energy sponsorship, meaning if RE don't pay, a bank would - and then the bank would chase RE after. In that context, it absolutely makes sense for RE to pull out ahead of a due date.
By the crate on Amazon, and that's it. Supposedly the tweet about Rich Energy breaking off their deal with Haas was sent by Storey (head of Rich Energy) without authorisation of the Rich Energy investors - who are now trying to salvage the Haas relationship.
How did someone like this get into being a title sponsor of a F1 team? I would be more shocked but a similar personality is currently in charge of the US of A. Who knows, they may get to dump Mr Rich from the company for all this and turn themselves into a reputable drinks company.
The whole debacle must be linked to the court case were Rich Energy had to provide details of all its sales and sponsorship agreements. Does he think he can screw the court over by not providing it because he can now claim they have nothing to do with Haas anymore? He just seems one of those guys who believes he can do what he wants and get away with it. Hope he comes a cropper.
Is that usual ? or does it mean HAAS had their doubts from day 1 ? Either way lucky they had it in place .
I wonder what the t&c of the guarantee are? My guess is it's a sort of insolvency guarantee not necessarily if RE pull the plug and use a performance clause, if there is one? I would say it was HASS doing due diligence and realising that RE may not have a long term history as a company.
@rich_energy CEO @_williamstorey has commented "The ludicrous statement by minority shareholders cosy with @redbull & @WhyteBikes is risible. Their attempted palace coup has failed. I control all of the assets of @rich_energy & have support of all key stakeholders" #RichEnergy
From Autosport . A new statement attributed to Rich Energy CEO William Storey has blasted the company's own communication in a fresh twist to the Haas Formula 1 team's title sponsor saga. On Wednesday, a Tweet emerged from the energy drink's account announcing that it had terminated its deal with Haas due to "poor performance". The post added that F1's "politics and PC attitude" were "inhibiting our business", and finishing behind Williams in the Austrian Grand Prix was "unacceptable". Haas released a statement on behalf of Rich Energy's apparent majority shareholders that attempted to salvage the relationship with the team, and accused a "rogue" individual of being responsible for the original tweet. That statement also said the individual, understood to be Storey, was being removed from his executive responsibilities. However, on Thursday evening, a subsequent tweet from the Rich Energy account contained a statement attributed to Storey that claimed the Haas statement was the work of supposed minority shareholders and that he remained in command. The tweet read: "The ludicrous statement by minority shareholders cosy with Red Bull and Whyte Bikes is risible. "Their attempted palace coup has failed. please log in to view this image Haas F1 team boss Gunther Steiner confirmed that the team would be running Rich Energy branding as usual during this weekend's British Grand Prix at Silverstone. In a statement, Steiner said: "Rich Energy is currently the title partner of Haas F1 Team. "I cannot comment further on the contractual relationship between our two parties due to commercial confidentiality." The Rich Energy logos remained on display at Haas ahead of the grand prix, although the firm has been ordered by court to give up use of its stag logo after July 18 for it infringes the copyright of Whyte Bikes. There has been no further comment from Haas in light of the latest statement. Seems to be one of those crazy F1 folklore stories that never appears clean cut. Heres some more detail https://beyondtheflag.com/2019/07/1...hreaten-winding-orders-rich-energy-logo-case/ Seems they havnt payed Whyte bikes so they are in trouble
They have to pay whyte bikes just under £35000. They are either refusing to pay or can’t get hold of that amount..... Crazy .
To be honest using a different distributor sounds like a good plan as the current distribution system seems limited to the odd case on Amazon! It does seem like a big pr mess for RE and Hass.
The exclusive rights to distribute it . Yes , it's bloody obvious it's everywhere , and that it's a battle worth fighting
