It is, given Hotspur Related have picked up the story since I posted it here

...but it says a lot that most of the Twitter feeds that post any rumour if they can chuck a citation in it have steered clear of this one so far, which may say a hell of a lot about how dubious the bloke is as a source - as did me unintentionally exposing "Alves to Spurs" is one of his his preferred headline-grabbers

You know how we've said on here for years that we could only dream of having the scouts that Atletico Madrid have? Well apparently they have their off days, as they're being linked with a move for Kieran Trippier

The list of clubs lining up to loan him has now increased to...
    Swansea
    Leeds
    Derby
    Huddersfield
    Stoke

    Totally legit.

[ Note to the reader : not really, we are merely shunting him into a siding -
so we can be spared the daily ranting we got last summer about Grealish. ]

I think they’re quoting from the Castles tweet you initially posted though, which is from 2017. They’ve all been duped because I can’t see any recent “Alves to Spurs” rumours on Castles’ twitter feed.

They aren't, because here's his most recent tweet - from last night - and in that podcast he not only discusses signing Alves (the relevant part is between 3:42-6:29) and it's clearly not an old podcast as he talks about our having signed Ndombele and our interest in Lo Celso, as well as PSG bringing in Leonardo as Sporting Director and that was only confirmed last week

So the story's recent and relevant, but the fact that it's not being heralded from the rooftops does indicate the guy's not seen as a credible source so it;s not worth getting your hopes up just yet - or, you know, me having to repeatedly inform people that the guy said it in a bloody podcast yesterday...

The only one I ever really listened to was Welcome To Night Vale, but I drifted out when it dawned on me I'd need to listen to five episodes a day for a whole month in order to catch up with the new episodes...

    Lo Celso Watch
    Estadio Deportivo have
a.) Effortlessly defeated Google Translate, judging by the references to the "Heliopolitan entities" that make it sound like we're going to have a back four of Osiris, Anubis, Sekhmet and Seth next season
b.) Reported that negotiations for Lo Celso have been "fluid and constant" in recent weeks, to the point we have been working on personal terms with an offer of up to £150k per week wages - and that the negotiations have taken place at a restaurant on the Guadalquivir river...which is the point where you think that either the story is genuine due to being able to provide so much detail, or the point you don't trust it because they're adding too much detail

    Exodus Watch
It's been noticed that two players have yet to be seen in pre-season training: Vincent Janssen and Georges-Kevin Nkoudou, which could be an indicator that we're preparing them for being shown the door by making sure they get a good look at the other side of it...or that they're injured, which isn;t outside the realm of possibility for the two of them

Claimed his wages will be anywhere near £150K/week.

If neither are injured and not in full pre-season training, then Pochettino
is already a failure this season.

Funny story about Roma having verbally agreed terms with Toby but hoping to persuade Levy to let him go for 10 mio.

Saying they are in squad training, but the club is being selective
as to which photos they are putting out, is another matter.

Are you suggesting this is so ??

...and now it's time to dampen your enthusiasm faster than learning that Mike Ashley is lining up Steve Bruce as the next manager

So I've done a little digging around about Duncan Castles, and suffice to say opinion is not good. Actually, scratch that, opinion is pretty bloody low because of the questionable nature of his sources, namely players' agents - with Jorge Mendes one of his main sources. So at this point you start to wonder if Castles is using our name to make a concrete offer materialise from elsewhere to keep his sources sweet more than anything else

He might not be the explosive match-winner in the same way that Ginola, Bale or VDV were, but Eriksen remains imho the most chronically underrated player in the PL. As DH has said, the only player I would pick ahead of him is KDB, and his injury record is far worse than Eriksen's.

Ridiculously good player. One of the best that’s played for the club in the Premier League era. In fact, you’d have to say one of the best full stop. Will be sorely missed if/ when he goes.

It’s always hard to compare players from now and past eras as the game’s changed but I think Eriksen has to be in the conversation alongside Hoddle, Gazza and van der Vaart in terms of our best number tens/ attacking midfielders.

Eriksen on his day is the best in the world, but he does have a few days where he runs a lot and does little else, particularly against 'park the bus' teams. He also often does not make necessary tackles. Sissoko/Dembele complimented him as they did the tackling, it may not be the same elsewhere.

Eriksen is good but one of the World's best?

Looks like most of the footballing world disagree with that. Maybe one of our best.

I know I'm in a minority but I think if you are World Class then you have to have something about you that can't really be backed up by stats. Them are the things the likes of Pirlo and Zidane have mooted at recently and I also am a firm believer in.

Like I said...one of our best no doubt.
