  2. To be fair, though, this thread is also posted on the City and Chelsea boards.

Chelsea will be up there this season never mind next season.

  7. I agree.

There is no way any of the chasing pack (ie. us, LFC or Arsenal) will overturn Chelsea this season.

We will compete this season but we won't win it. I am 100& sure of that.

The transition will take time, but I feel that next season we will be as good as City and United in terms of squad depth, our young players are at least as talented as yours there is no doubt about that, but we have to learn to cope without the old guard, we need leaders to replace JT, Lampard and Drogba in the long term.

I see you are finally realising your older players aren't good enough to last a season eh? I remember last year when you claimed you were and that they could still last the pace. <ok>

I'm not 100% sure you won't win the league. A team with that much experience I will never rule out. I will still have Chelsea above City at the end of the season. Torres, Luiz, Mata and Lukaku are all top class signings and I'm sure once Torres gets firing Chelsea will be right up there.

One thing I am 100% on is that it is a 3 horse race. I just cannot pick a winner.

Unfortunately I would have to say Liverpool. Spurs slip up too often against teams you'd expect them to beat and still haven't brought in a striker that you would compare with Arsenal or Liverpool's best striker, meaning that they'll have the same problems as last year.

Arsenal will finish below both of them in my opinion. Having signed the poor man's Fabregas, Mertesacker and the poor man's Nasri I can see them getting dominated and starved of posession more than past seasons. The Dortmund match was imo a sneak peek of what you should expect from Arsenal's tougher fixtures this season. They'll still be strong on the counterattack but that simply won't be good enough.

  17. So, District Line, do you now accept that we'll finish above Arsenal this season?

little over confident dont you think, considering you're in 17th with a tally of P-3 W-1 D-0 L-2 GD -5.

  19. Not overly confident, just being objective.

Or do you truly and honestly foresee that we will play as badly as the Gooners have, so far this season? I know you'd like us to play that badly, but do you honestly believe we will?
