Oooooh...I assumed someone like Bowen would be way out of our financial reach. If they are interested in Marshall though, that would be good. Get him off our wage bill too. I'd be amazed if we got him and a bigger club didn't come in for him. Although, I suppose I thought that with Madders. He was also linked a lot with Spurs and such. Much like Bowen.
In fairness Hanley signed a new one recently too and is contracted for another 4 years to 2023, I wonder if the club will be having reservations about that one, with the promotion and a likely uplift could we have a very expensive reserve who is too well paid to offload yet doesn't quite fit Farkes football? In Heise case he is a recent signing with 3 more years so without having kicked a ball in anger will have to prove something first. Tettey will surely just see out his final year, as for Trybull, I would be surprised if he doesn't get improved terms, but the club still have an option to keep him for 3 years so no pannicks, ditto Leitner, Thmpson on 3+1 must be on as good as he can get with his injury history, I'm sure Webber will reward him with another if he can stay fit enough to make an impact. Srbeny looks like a bit parter and may have got a rise from promotion anyway and is on 2+1 so I doubt will see too much more without kicking on. And then we have Vrancic, surely the most important business left, with only one year remaining for such a good player, I'd like to see an annoncement soon securing his future at CR. If we don't hear of one soon, what will Webbers strategy be, cash in or get use out of him in his final year? Bah!
With Bowen it isn't so much that we couldn't afford a one off fee, it was the ongoing wages that an 8 figure player conceivably in demand might demand that made me think he'd be out of reach. Bah!
I wasn't sure about Hanley, so thanks for that and Thompson's situation as well. So that makes 15 players who have now signed longer contracts: Hanley, Aarons, Lewis, Godfrey, Cantwell, Stiepermann, Klose, McGovern, Hernandez, Krul, Pukki, McLean, Idah, Buendia and Zimmerman No new deal yet: Heise, Tettey, Trybull, Thompson, Leitner, Vrancic and Srbeny Plus Roberts, Drmic and Fährmann as new signings. That's a current squad of 25 players with 5 of those not counted in the PL 25 player limit because of their age. Three of those will count next year though.

Zimmerman's deal until 2023 is official! Didn't realise he'd had his legs amputated below the knee over the summer break. That's some seriously terrible photoshop. Telegraph are now reporting a 5-year deal for Max Aarons to stay has been agreed too.
Photo shop is poor. I would love a cape like that though! They should sell them in the Club store! I recon they would sell. If the half yellow, half green wigs sell enough, that would!
The contract grabs the headlines, but the other side of his commitment also catches the eye: “I enjoy working with the young players because when you have them around, they are willing to learn and are asking the older guys for advice and trying to learn off them, so they are really open minded and hard working. I think also, it’s what the Club stands for. This transfer window, we haven’t spent loads of money as it’s not the idea of the Club but the idea is to try and get some good players with quality to develop them and also through our Academy. It’s always great to see especially when someone has come through the academy ranks with a big club to join the first-team so I’m really pleased for all our players that they have been successful like Jamal [Lewis], Max [Aarons], Ben [Godfrey], Todd [Cantwell] and now Adam [Idah] to have them in the first team and with us in the long-term.”
IMO, this has been an INCREDIBLE Transfer Window with so many players signing extended deals and keeping the nucleus of the squad together for a serious assault on the PL. If ANY of the top 6 want any of our players, then the MINIMUM starting price is going to be >£20M!! I know we'll probably be on the wrong end of some heavy defeats, but such is the togetherness of this squad that they'll come back stronger in the next game.
Realistically I think they're all signed. They probably could have announced the lot on one day, but they're dragging it out to fill the summer and give each player an individual day of social media love. Webber mentioned Mario's contract in interviews weeks ago.
Like an advent calendar. It works and gave the impression of making signings. Great response by the lads to sign up and not demand a move, also when the inevitable happens and some do leave we will be able to demand a much higher price. Players nearing and over 30 don't need 5 year contracts .
Useful graphic in this from the EDP: It does add interest and they probably have to spread out talks a bit according to who is available, but hopefully you're right and they've all been done. Guilmour must have been signed up before he went to the Netherlands, even though it's only just been announced.
Great post Dunc!! This was my post #41 - back in March!!!! I can see the rumours surrounding several of our players starting to surface over the coming weeks and months. I remain hopeful that - a. We'll get promoted and the players will have the sense to tell their agents that they want to stay at NR1 and develop under DF and his staff and so be worth even more next summer, thus giving their agents a bigger pay cheque!! b. SW will put a really high price tag on all of our players that potential buyers will go elsewhere.
Yes, I remember your saying that, JMF, and you got it spot on. It also shows how strong the team spirit is.
Yeah I think this is one of the bonuses of the type of personality we're looking to recruit. The players seem like decent people, and most will feel they owe the club something. Equally, I'm sure Emi, Max, etc have been walked through various scenarios for next summer, and aren't about to be shocked in 12 months time by the price tags Norwich demand.
