So, just over 3 week until the season starts. One pretty much guaranteed first team signing in Costa. The rest under 23 or fringe bench warmers or were part of the first team last year - Harrison and Clarke. A squad we were told last season that wasn’t good enough has not been improved for the first team. Thought early signings would be made in time for the magical pre-season Bielsa master class. Running out of time now wtf. Where was the takeover. If you can’t afford to compete and improve on last year, just sell. Here’s hoping tomorrow we get some experienced first teamers in., otherwise I can’t see where we have advanced on last years performance. Trying to stay positive but it feels like a bit of a mess at the moment, with Roofe, Philips, Jansson and a long haul fecking trip to Australia getting in the way.

Where did you hear that we were well within the FFP rules? When the TW opened, someone on here reported that Mike Thornton (aka Adrian Teakdesk) was reporting that we were sitting on an overall £30m loss over the period, with all of the usual losses to come during the season. Obviously changed with Clarke's sale, but worrying nonetheless.
If this is true then you are very close to an embargo because you are only allowed 39m in loses, add that 30m to 15m you will pay for costa and even counting Pontus money and Clarke monies you are pissing very close to the wind
£30m for the period yes but thats year 3. -14m then -£23m then -£30m but Clarke has us in single digits now and to break the rule we need to be more than -£39m in the final year. All rough numbers and without doing anything about it like we probably did with Clarke cash
