Agreed if money ever gets into it. Refreshing though to see amateurs playing for the love of their club or county and never feigning injury and two sections of supporters that don’t have to be segregated. Lots of plusses
Not a fan myself Eire. I remember my Da saying it was a game played by gurriers and watched by gurriers..... But each to their own.
Wouldn’t call myself a fan either, more of a spectator. Wouldn’t agree with that assessment though. Gaa does a lot of good with youngsters in communities. Often nothing else in areas for teenagers to do
Well a weekend post that has 10 pages and it's not all about drinking... Thinking about event of past 24 hours - and throwing up a lot of questions that guess won't be answered until next couple of days/weeks... Firstly you have to believe Bielsa has been consulted on ALL transfers and like last year has said who he wants to go, who he wants to stay and who he will accept going and if we need to for financial reasons (last year was Viera) and also been consulted and agreed to ALL first team signings. If he wasn't then we can suspect we will find out at first press conference as he will tell us if asked or he will walk. Also have to accept that Radz wants us to succeed and has a big financial stake both in us getting promoted and not getting promoted so will be working to that goal. Don't buy the fire sale aspect as if we really are getting investment/take-ove and the Costa transfer suggests we might there's surely they wouldn't approve of this? Also whilst Rads is the owner and has final sale on transfer and has cultivated relationships with agents and chairmen he is not the one making or doing minutae of deals - thats must be in Angus Kinnear and Orta departments - Orta (and team) sourcing players or maybe clubs to sell to and Kinner working on the deal before Rads signs off. (These two also have strong desire to get promoted) So I think despite whats happening can presume they're working in best interests - whether they are doing it competently is open for debate. So Jansson obviously has the most questions - something has happened - is it recent, has it been brewing since last year. But why so low a fee and why Brentford? Does Bielsa think we need another CB , we all thought White was back up but does he think he will use White as ball playing CB he likes to have with Cooper and Beradi/Ayling as back up and then Struijk from U21's as emergency back up. Lets face it we don't much about White but last year who thought Kalvin would be our highest valued player in a year! Maybe he's already agreed to go to Brentford but again strange that he wouldn't have any other options? Roofe surely depends on contract talks - how much was this a good season (or less than half a good season) and how much do we want to lock in on a high earning contract. But he has the right to say he deserves parity with Bamford who is on a lot higher wage. Maybe it's paper talk or a cheeky bid to test the waters for a player with a year left on his contract or maybe better bids will now be forthcoming or from Leeds' side better contract? Philips contract talks are these just to butter us up for bad stuff that was coming or for the talks to fall down on players greedy wages... Or is it a player does not want to sell and one he would only allow if it really was for silly money. Well thats just added to length of weekend posts.....
