The algorithms used by social media companies tend to reinforce ones views by firing information that supports ones own opinions posted by like minded people. I could be wrong about Robinson, maybe he is innocent and has been framed, that's one issue. To me the real issue however is the unlawfulness of these gangs that needs to be addressed, the law in the UK appears to be doing it but Robinson is getting in the way, no matter how well intended his action may be. Looking at this very simplistically you could work out how much money these actions by Robinson have cost and then consider how many more investigations could have been undertaken into these gangs if that wasted money had been available.
