He maintains that he did use the word 'a' in it, although I have heard the audio 1000s of times and am not sure: https://www.space.com/17307-neil-armstrong-one-small-step-quote.html
Good shout. I listened to and recorded every episode in the World Service series as they became available. I'm going to upload them to my archive closer to the anniversary of Apollo 11 launch day. EDIT: Incidentally, you might like this 50th anniversary programme which was presented by Buzz Aldrin:
Sorry. Should have provided a download link as well. The Archive on here defaults to that player that you see. Glad to see that you were savvy enough to work it all out.
Nip back to anything on the Archive that you want to hear. I created mine [English Settlement II] so that I and others could pass the time doing something and have a really good topic or story going on in the background. Radio has the unfortunate habit of carrying on when you can't listen. Plus the next episode is a day or week away. With the Archive you can have the next episode as soon as you want it. https://archive.org/details/@englishsettlement_ii Why English Settlement? Blame XTC.
There has been an explosion at a Florida shopping plaza .......multiple injured with the fire department calling it a gas explosion
Hmm, vacant pizza restaurant. Guess someone forgot to turn off a gas burner after it went out and the build up kept coming. I understand that two of those injured are serious. Obviously hoping they recover to normal. Don't want to make light of this, but it's a curious thing about gas explosions that even when they are quite big, and they destroy buildings [like here] they don't kill as much as one might expect. The pressure wave created by the explosion is often slow enough that people are sometimes pushed out of the way. What injures and kills them is the flying debris, or when they land after being taken off their feet.

Thanks. Just checking none of the wife’s family could have been near. She has a lot of family in Florida
I hate electricity. Really do. And I am a renowned DIY disaster. Anyway, feeling proud of myself, seeing as I am a DIY disaster. I managed to install 3 under cupboard LED Strips (powered off a nice cheap £6 sonoff basic smart switch) and changed the transformers for my kitchen spotlights God I get paranoid around electricity though lol EDIT: These are really good - I have about 5 around the house now where you can go inline rather than smart plug route https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B06WWNBD3Y/?tag=not606-21 Cheaper on eBay though, but have to wait as come from China. I flash them with custom firmware (Tasmota) and they natively talk to Alexa and google home without calling back to China or needing the app on your phone )
I am glad to say that none of that meant anything to me...apart from the words light and electricity.
Tricities easy Fran. Blue wire, brown wire, any order you like. Yellow/green one to earth. You can stick a switch anywhere in the blue or brown one (mechanical or smart) You won't die as long as you turn the mains off when you're wiring them in. If you've done it wrong, your trip switch will blow when you turn the mains back on. Then you call an electrician who says "what idiot wired this up? he could have burned the house down!!!! (I deliberately said "he" because a she would never have got the wires round the wrong way - it's so easy)
I'm the other way. Electricity will never do you any harm, provided you respect it. Water will just make you wet. But Gas will blow you out of your house. And if you're unlucky, it'll send the house to fall on top of you.
BMW's CEO has resigned. Their sales are falling off a cliff in the US, and that was a huge market for them, They have not accounted for the electric tide, and they have f*** all in readiness, because 5 years ago Harald Krüger [yep, that's the guy's name], pooh-poohed the EV revolution, slowed to a virtual halt all of BMW's meaningful EV development, and hugely underestimated Tesla's lead in it. If there is one thing I have learned in 11-12 years of following the antics of Elon Musk it's never ever underestimate him. As a rival you'll end up regretting it.
