That is not a lot of money. Who the hell negotiates our out-going transfer fees??

 

Could the tailing off have anything to do with Pontus?

 

Given it’s been so widely broadcast since January that were strapped for cash, it hardly improves our bargaining position when the pl clubs come poaching

 

All these comings and goings not doing my brain power any good.
Think I will just sit back and watch it all float over my head.
Bielsa is supposed to know what he is doing, so will be patient for now.
Having said that nothing short of autos this coming season will be failure.

I’ve been pretty consistent with my views on Pontus. Excellent player when on it. Prone to have Lala days that the fans seem to overlook because he’s a cult hero. Has a bizarre fake injury thing going on, for such a tough guy.

Strong willed and wants to win, Hates losing which I really like about him.

Drama queen and likes being centre of attention, not really a team player. Not popular with his team mates.

Mixed bag. Would rather have him than lose him though and 5.5m is too cheap.

 

I suspect the last sentence might be the key point.

 

Agree with everything everyone has said because theres truth and facts in every post. I too wish him well as he has been fatastic and wears his heart on his sleeve. Suspect hes upset a few at the end if the season laying blame at people like Cooper, Kiko, Bielsa.....

Also suspect the money is down to been near the end of his contract. £5,5m is bit light

 

It does say it's a bid and that we want a quick sale but doesn't say it's been accepted and if they get a couple of clubs interested and leaking what the bid is might help increase clubs prepared to bid - but I guess it depends how quick they want the sale.

 

I try not to comment on individual players as I don't know what pressures they are under however in the case of Pontus I would just make one observation.
As an individual you should be respectful of those who pay your wages I.e Radrizzani,and do what your manager says.
Whilst I think Pontus has been good for the club in the past he does seem to have fallen down on the above two points.
This being the case he should go to pastures new with our best wishes.

 

Could well have been but I just felt it was a collective choke from the players.

 

This sale seriously weakens our defence so a risk by Bielsa. We didn't go up, we want autos and weakening the squad doesn't seem to be the best way to do it. If it was just about the walk-in goal, I'd expect Bielsa to be a bigger man and see he has someone that just wants to win (I'll duck now I've dared to criticise the chosen one).

Has done well for us, but we gave his career a boost by signing him from Torino. But like a lot of players he started to think IMO that he was bigger than Leeds Utd. Personally I don't want to see him go, but he will just be another stat regarding players exiting the club.

Btw, wasn't there rumoured to be an offer of £13.5m or so at this time last year?

 

If its so then lets get on with it. Love the player but if its his time then i wish him well in his future.

 

Yes we want autos anything less is failure, after the improvements of last year we have to assume Bielsa knows what he is doing, only time will tell.
Hopefully we have more players to come in.
The point I was trying to make about Pontus or any player for that matter is that they follow the rules not make their own up, before long you have a group of individuals playing the way they want and not as a team=failure.
My own humble opinion of course.

I think pontus would do well in the prem.

 

If he's better that what you've got then you make exceptions (it's called managing), old red nose at the scum knew when to dump players but broke his rules over Cantona. And if players want him gone because he is too popular with the fans then they need to grow up. If we have better than him coming in I'll agree with you completely, but I'm not sure I'm sold on a 1st day pairing of Cooper & and untried 20 year old loanee from Brighton that's never played in this division. Like you, my humble opinion as you are probably right.
