Twitter, which I realise is not the place to go for reasoned opinions, is full of people slating Donald and Methven. One or two conspiracy theories, like they are just a front for Ellis Short, are doing the rounds. With Stewart closing down the direct communication, it does look a little concerning. The club must be aware of all of this. It would be nice if we could have a signing or two over the next couple of days to calm everyone down a bit.

    My take on things
When we never got promoted no one will invest
Therefore the only money we have to spend is what we get fro transfers
    We have no money
Will someone correct me or tel me something better

Something just feels off to me but obviously I don't know the full picture.

I reckon they were banking on us going up first time and that's put a huge spanner in the works across the board.

That'd be pretty stupid really as there are too many variables (I'm not saying you're wrong by the way)

That could quite possibly be the case. The comments about Borussia Dortmund suggest that they were hoping that the club would keep going under it's own steam if only they could get it started.
I think though that the void left by Donald coming off Twitter has been filled by dissenting voices, pessimists, and conspiracy theorists who are now being heard all the more because Stewie isn't there to knock the rubbish on the head. And that might be blowing what is a problem into a major catastrophe.

They do understand what running a football club involves, even though their previous involvement has been at non-league level.

So they would be the most almighty fools to think that promotion was a certainty.
The recent example of Leeds United's struggles to escape League 1 would have underlined this.

About the only point I do believe atm is that not getting promoted has thrown the proverbial spanner in the works...

What the out of it will be re new investors.. god knows, but it is obvious not as much as if we had got promoted!

I reckon the day out at Wembley has cost us dear... a big factor in not getting promoted and a negative for attracting new owners/investors

Lots of noise from a minority of dissenters among Sunderland fans but the majority know that lots is going to happen over the next month or two. Too soon to worry about it yet.

Honestly think the way things are lining up the derby will be back the season after this.

I believe it was a newspaper report that said 19th June as the date for takeover. Could be wrong, but I don't think that ever came from Donald.

Sartori wouldnt have known what he wanted to do until he was confirmed as presidential candidate or not. That only happened last week.

No big signings, but we are getting players in.

Time to panic is not here yet imo

Right, as $ky have stopped faffing around with the fixtures at long last, I've just booked my flight to get Pompey (h) and Rochdale (a) in. Really looking forward to it!

I might have to hassle one of you kind season card holders for a Rochdale ticket, depending on how tickets are sold this year for away games. There's nowt on the Club site yet.

If we're trying to bring in investment it may be they've asked Donald to temporarily restrict public communications ...
... or he may have decided it was prudent in the circumstances.

Whatever the case I'm sure him and Methven aren't just sitting around playing Kerplunk.

Just read on FB that the investment group have pulled out and are no longer interested in investing in SAFC.

It is FB, so could be fake news!

Could be but I wouldn't be shocked if it was the case. The reasons why might be a concern or they might not, depends if there's any truth in the seemingly bullshit rumours about Donald banking everything on us going up at the first attempt.

No matter what I have no doubt that we're an attractive prospect for investors even if there are a few wrinkles.

It's all 'par for the course'.

Rumours of potential syndicates abound in Football in general, it helps fill space in the Sport Sections of The Papers.
And how many of these 'Hold The Press' stories come to anything?
    Precious few.

And if any of us feel particularly unhappy lets consider how Our Friends to The North must be feeling just now as THEIR Takeover talk seems to have gone quiet (or did it all go through while I was away?) and their Manager just gone.

    See.
    Things could be worse.
