In part 3 of this series im going to look at whats been happening since last time in the world of F1 racing :

1.F1 title wrapped up: It looks all but certain now that Sebastian Vettel will be the next back to back world champion, which was last achieved by Fernando Alonso during the 05 and 06 seasons. The only fun left is guessing what race he can do it by.

2.2012 calendar: The calendar for next season was revealed, showing that the Turkish grand prix had been dropped, a track liked by drivers and fans alike. 2012 also sees the return of the American Grand prix to its new home in Austin, and the Bahrain grand prix makes a return too.

3.Pirelli: As noted in the last article, Pirelli is adapting to more of a conservative approach in its tyre choices for the season, and has taken the lottery of its tyres away from what was seen earlier on in the season. Still Pirelli is giving us good racing as always.

4.DRS + KERS: The last time we talked about DRS, it was negative as the FIA had decided to put two activation points in Canada and Valencia, but with only one detection point, Meaning if a car was ahead coming into the second point he could still use DRS to pull away from his opponent. In Monza we seen the introduction of two detection points for the first time. There has been some criticism that F1 is getting just too artificial, and we are loosing out on good honest racing.

KERS, or Kinetic Energy Recovery System gives the driver the choice to use 80hp extra boost for six seconds, and has provided some great strategic battles on track. Not a lot has changed with it since last time.

Thanks for reading, and please leave your thoughts !

good read. Its a shame as there was a lot of World Title hope in series 2 but it looks like part 3 is a wrap up of the season. Still can wait for your final entry to close this book of 2011, who knows what might happen in the last few races??

It sucks that the top five have finished development on their cars this year because everyone is sealed into their current championship positions effectively (in this I am referring more to the constructors championship).

I dont think part 4 will be too dramatic, but heres hoping. I woulnt mind seeing a team outside top 3 winning or back on the podium at least.
