Depends what you want Bobs. North coast is rugged, wild, big seas and cliffs, big open beaches. South coast is serene, wooded valleys, rivers, gentle beaches. If you go far enough west, you can combine the two.

I find that a hard back book works best.

After the recent, excellent Planets documentary series I'm watching the new Serengeti series on BBC1.

Sadly it's being narrated by John Boyega ffs, so may have to stick it on mute and switch on subtitles.

Yeah the Eden project is good. Not cheap though I think it’s about £28 for a ticket. The tropical biome is pretty special though.

If your missus like plants though, cornwall is stacked with great gardens. We’ve got a sub tropical climate down here so lots of palms and ferns etc grow wild. The lost Gardens of Heligan is good, and further west Trelissick and Trebah Gardens near Falmouth are amazing. They back onto the Helford river too, which is one of my favourite places here. Great safe swimming at the bottom of a really nice wooded valley.

If that’s your sort of thing, you might want to consider somewhere around Falmouth as a base. It’s a great town, nice and laid back with a great maritime history. Loads of good cafes, restaurants and pubs. Eden project is about an hour drive from there, but there’s loads on your doorstep and you’re not right out in the sticks.

If you want something a bit more wild though, then I have some other suggestions :)

Red generally adds colour to a salad, but white tends to be stronger <whistle>
