Closing well at the finish in a really rough race where they went too fast early.

A 10/1 boom! Tate/spencer coming into form. Channon has banksys art in the last who’s had a couple of winners.

With 2F left Lady Of Aran was just about last and I think she had far too much to do from there. She gave it a good go in the end and got 3rd late on. It's hard to say she was unlucky but I hate that feeling where you are left wondering if a horse managed to give its all in the race and that was one of those sorts of races.

Perhaps a mile may suit better but it's not always as straightforward as that. Mickey was winning for the first time in more than 3 years, so hardly winning out of turn. I felt Lady Of Aran was a decent value price today and she has run well but it's hard getting everything to fall into place and frustrating when you don't quite get there with something at a decent price.

Fitzrovia was the one who couldn't win based on the betting pattern. 3/1 jf in some places last night and right out to 8/1. Never showed on the faster going today.

I might give Lady Of Aran another chance next time in a decent sized field.

Let's play a game, does anyone know a bigger prat in racing than Yates? That article on the Racing Post tonight is something else. Superstition. What a eejit.

VALLEY OF FIRE was very unlucky or given a poor ride depending on your viewpoint, talk about all dressed up and nowhere to go. Trapped on the rails with a double handful throughout the final furlong. Had been nibbled in the market too so wasn’t entirely unfancied. That one and LADY OF ARAN worth a second look next time.
