I see them as the Godfathers of Britpop, it's clear that the Britpop sound was driven by The Roses and The Charlatans. I think it was Liam that once said that he joined the band because he wanted to be like Tim Burgess.

Did I ever tell you they were just across from me at the 99 CL final? . I say they, Gaz and at least one of the others but I assumed it to be all three at the time. Saw Richard Ashcroft there too.

Oh I'll carry on as normal but if you get the chance it's usually an interesting conversation. Generally these people are famous or infamous for a reason and have some good stories.
