That's the thing Tubby, you'll never understand what it means to be a big club. You also have a turnstile on the managers door. At least we have hardware in the cabinet for our ill's. Whats your excuse then fatguts?
I hope he doesn't. I like Frank. I just think he's taking an unnecessary risk at this early stage in his managerial career. He can go to CFC at any time in the future, but not if he completely fcuks it up.
Anyway, I hope none of you lads are rattled by my comments. Only idiots get rattled by opinions expressed on a forum meant for the expression of opinions. I'm sure none of you lads are rattled, yeah?
I think it’s more than likely the most opportune time for Frank to take the job. There will never be a period in Chelsea’s future where the new manager isn’t expected to come in, make wholesale changes and develop the champagne football roman wants to see. Yes he’s inexperienced, but I’d say no more than you’re average Prem manager. He knows how to manage a team, and let’s face it, that Chelsea team should be up there winning things either way. They players are good enough. If it were anyone else in any other situation, id say it’s too early. What has he got to lose? The fans will always love him and his legacy won’t be tarnished. You think Souness or Dalglish are viewed any worse because of their managerial efforts at Liverpool? Let’s say he has 2 years at Chelsea the. He gets the boot. You can’t say he won’t have experience after that. Is it potentially an emotionally charged hire? Maybe from the fans side. The back room staff at Chelsea don’t seem to have any idea what’s going on anyway so it would probably appear to be fairly level headed from them. I hope he does well and is allowed to do what he wants with the team.
Very good synopsis. There will never be a better time for Frank to start at Chelsea, with no great expectations and no new superstars to integrate. He has a good chance to introduce a different style that fits the squad better, and hopefully to start a longer term building program that we have needed for some time.
Welcome home Frank. His first 2 games in charge are over here in " The Emerald Isle " and i have my tickets for both !!!....can't wait. A new era begins. Come on the Chels.
Everybody is hoping frank tanks. It simply won’t happen as no one else will take on the role. Chelsea fans have zero expectations and actually welcome this forced change in policy and philosophy. Who knows, with frank in charge spurs may be in with a shout of winning something this season
Will he win anything? Highly doubtful. We may have a good run in the cup and if we are lucky with other results may grab one but that’s the best we can hope for in franks first season.
