Brilliant - I can have 23 on my shirt again, but I'm waiting to see what the 2nd and 3rd kits are!!! https://www.edp24.co.uk/sport/norwich-city/norwich-announce-premier-league-squad-numbers-1-6140043
Shirt numbers also suggest the U23 signings are very much just U23 signings. No squad numbers for Adshead or Bushiri. Idah will be training with the first team, but also hasn't got a squad number yet.
Looking at the shirt numbers, there are 24 named players so presumably we are expecting 1 more arrival? Also interesting that Oliveira and Marshall have not been given a squad number which would suggest that they are definitely on their way
James Husband is also absent. Usually you see these players given squad numbers even though they are intending to sell them!
I don't know if any of you guys listen to "The Totally Football Show" Podcast. They had a special, with a guy who wrote a book about the use, and development of data in football. How it is changing training, scouting etc. He mentioned Norwich buying Emi. How we must have had scouts who use the type of data he is talking about. He said about how amazing a signing he was, and how he is going to be a big time player. That was so great to hear! I totally agree. Emi is going to be big.
I would suggest that this is achievable? https://www.pinkun.com/norwich-city/new-deal-will-boost-city-hero-pukki-s-confidence-1-6141267
I remember SW describing how our 'stats' experts were the first to pick out Buendia from the crowd due to his excellent stats in a struggling second tier team. That led to SW going to see for himself and then quickly snap him up. Great example of how professional our recruitment has become. Meanwhile Martin Penney goes back to 1993-4 when we beat Liverpool 1-0 at Anfield. The MotD highlights are well worth watching for those who want to see how we achieved 3rd and 4th place finishes in the top division. It certainly wasn't by 'parking the bus'! No stars, but great teamwork. Edit: Forgot the link: http://norwichcity.myfootballwriter...-final-hurrah-and-a-busy-old-day-down-in-nr1/
So, shall we all slash our wrists, or just leave Steve (miserable) Downes to get on with it? https://www.eveningnews24.co.uk/vie...ch-city-s-dafabet-deal-is-dangerous-1-6144334
So if we don't have Dafabet on our shirts, all of a sudden gambling addiction disappears? I don't think so
I think Dafabet got the gig because the only other "contender", namely Dodgy Dave the Drug Dealer, was too stoned to get his bid in on time.
I see his point - up to a point. But it's lucrative, and for a club without megabucks owners, that has to be factored in. I do agree with a comment on here that they should be available (for kids, etc) without the sponsors logo on - but that surely defeats the point of Dafabet sponsoring them? Steve Downes does like being controversial and rattling cages - maybe he should become a TalkSport radio host?
That's already been the case for the last two seasons, and continues for this year. Kids shirts will be sponsored by Gravity Trampoline park. I believe it's illegal to put betting sponsors on kids clothing. Several other clubs have youth shirts without sponsors. I would like to see a bit more from the club/Dafabet to promote gambling help/charities, compared to under LeoVegas. However if fans want to take a moral stance against gambling sponsors, take it up with the Prem/FA - it should be tackled far more widely.
