I am sure there will be calls for the women's game to be given equal billing, status and funding as the male game (same as tennis has) but from what I saw the standard of football was woeful. A friend commented that it sounded as if the commentators were not allowed to make any criticism or comparisons to the male game.

Also the use/abuse of VAR makes the game dire. What do we reckon? England to finish 4th spot just like their male counterparts did in the last World Cup?

As a modern day, forward thinking, all inclusive gentleman. I disagree with these comments regarding the ladies football. It's not as good as the men's game and never will be. I believe the games can be just as entertaining tho. The goals last night were good finishes that resulted from good build up play.

Women's footy is unrecognisable from 10 years ago and I'm sure it will continue to grow over the next decade. The comparisons with the men's game needs to stop as that's never going to be fair.
