Nice amount......Still cant get my head round him selling something which means so much to him personally. His shirt from the day with a promise to double the amount raised would make more sense.
Have to agree, its not as if hes got loads of medels and its just another one that hes not bothered about. I dont think hes had many medals in his career and the one from sending your home club that youve supported since a boy into the prem for the first time ever after scoring the winning goal I would have would have meant something special
I have to say I find it weird him selling it. He does not need the money. It SHOULD mean a lot to him. He could donate cash to charity instead of selling a peice of priceless history. I dont think it will fetch as much as he would like to think. I'd say £2,900
Oh right !!! Doh !!! Yeah just seen that on Hull Dail Fail... http://www.thisishullandeastriding....-000-auction/story-13328118-detail/story.html
Classy touch from the Allams, really respect them for doing that. It was the obvious thing for the club to do but it still needed doing.
The Official Website have issued a statement which suggests representatives of Mr Allam have purchased the medal on behalf of the club . Good show from the club and well done to Deano for the 50% of the monies which he has generously donated to Castle Hill Oncology (cancer) ward.
The club bought it. Not sure how much it went for though. http://www.hullcityafc.net/page/NewsDetail/0,,10338~2450988,00.html
It made sense to not mention this till after the event. I guess they had a limit and would have got even more stick if they tried and failed to buy it.
