Have to say the US look far slicker in their passing and movement, a lot of our possession is in areas that won't hurt them whereas they seem to be able to pick us apart quite easily. We'll do exceptionally well to get anything from this game...
USA look very good. Finding spaces and making the passes pay off. Very slick. Our passing is gifting the ball away. I wasn’t impressed with Bright in the last game and she’s not been good in this one either.
A few points. England look very shaky at the back. Possibly due to losing the No1 keeper? USA look fitter and really good. They're first to all the second balls. We lack width, which is due to the change in formation, which I really don't understand. Fantastic finish from White who is a really good finisher. Need to play with more width and get chances to White. Jill Scott is terrible!
Women's football really has come on massively in the last few years Some of the play this WC has been fantastic - I'm really enjoying watching it Interesting comment during the first half that in the U.S. there are more women than men playing football at college now
Hope Solo just summed it up - they are fitter, stronger, more athletic, faster and have always had that, and have added being footballers rather than just relying on athleticism.
I suspect their conditioning and physical shape, both things we should be able to match but perhaps don’t quite have the professionalism and determination to win yet, will see them through. But we have goals in this team, might get interesting.
They are looking much stronger than us physically now. And beginning to take their time about things.
