I'm watching the England vs USA semi-final.

I may live to regret the next 90 minutes but I think it's worth seeing. Come on the Lionesses especially the fit ones!

 

Didn’t want to admit it, but I’m giving it a try.

 

England @16/5 were too long imo, so I’ve given the game some added interest lol.

 

USA all over them in the first 5/6 mins. Could've scored already. Those odds may well be right.

The build up to that goal was quality tbf. And nowt wrong with the finish.

 

Defending was lamentable though.

 

Yeh I didn't want to say lol. But the through ball, dummy and cross were excellent play.

I think the USA high press has been very good. England can play it out but look vulnerable when they lose possession.

 

England seem to be playing in slow motion compared to the American's.

The Yanks have been doing this for a long time now, far higher standard.

 

Yep, can only see one result here, lamentably.

 

I think the cameraman has a thing for Morgan (as do I) keeps cutting to close up of her.

The attacking play has been very good at times in the games I've watched - 2 very fine finishes so far tonight.

I also think people comparing it unfavourably with mens football have very rose-tinted glasses. There were plenty of "big games" last year in the premiership which were ponderous and lacking in quality, even some with the big teams. Plus mens international games are slower and bitty too. From what I've seen the gap in quality (which is still there as you'd expect) isn't the chasm many make it out to be.

 

She is super-fit in fairness.
