More than likely that before any offer would be made that clubs would discuss wage demands with his agent. That is the way these things tend to work. The whole idea of the buying club only speaking to the player/agent after a bid has been accepted is pretty rare.

Edit - Also worth pointing out I have nothing against what Clasie is doing. Securing big money whilst that he is unlikely to get offered again makes sense

My point is WHAT the hell has that got to do with a players career from a fans POV ?

 

No new signings for one day, and you lot start fighting like cats and dogs.

IMO, the John Terry affair with Wayne's girlfriend behind his back did adversely affect him. He left Chelsea (or maybe he had already left?) over it, he turned his back on England because of JT too. It is quite relevant to his career.

He was never the same after it. A personal life can affect your career.

Just IMO

 

Clasie is a decent player, and deserves the opportunity to impress Ralph.
My biggest doubt about him, given that Ralph wants to play an uptempo, high press game, is that Clasie rarely managed to complete a full 90 minutes when he was in the squad, and we were playing at a slower tempo then.
The preseason will sort him out, one way or the other.

 

Clasie doesn't want to be here regardless of what Ralph thinks so Ralph won't be keeping him around.
