Just thought it was worth posting a thread to say how well I thought Andy Dawson played today. He's been getting a bit of stick on various web site as well as at the KC. Today he gave a real attacking display and was excellent all day. More of the same please Andy.

He has been a lot better in his last 3 games. He got a lot of stick over the last 2 months (some deserved) I just hope he carries it on.

I have being very critical of him recently and this season at times he has not being himself, and he has being poor. However since becoming captain he has played a lot better, maybe it is a coincidence maybe not but either way he has certainly improved his performance, well done Daws!

Quality today, got down the wing and involved in our attacks. The way he powered past that defender for the penalty was totally unDawsonly, and I swear he even crossed it with hris right foot once!

I ahave always thought him of a tidy defender but lacking going forward recently, not he is doing this he is looking a lot better, and the team performs better overall, overlapping full backs are a must.

Well played today, more of the same please

He has always been one of my favorites to be honest and I hope he keeps his current form up.

One swallow with a long summer ahead.Definitely not captain material for the long term even if he manages to play to his maximum ,which has been missing for over 2 years.

Credit where credit's due, people have been calling for harper to be dropped for weeks. Ok it was forced through injury but he's out the team and we bag 5! I was in the 'if it ain't broke...' camp but evidently it should have been attempted before now, maybe we'd have got more out of the previous 3 games. Not to dwell on that though, 5 flippin 1!!! Get in there you beauty!!

Dawson has been better in the last three games, long may it continue, but we still need another left back.

I think as our front 6 have improved then Daws has had less presuure at the back and doesn't look so bad. This has let hi show his good attacking qualites (I'd forgotten he coud attack!). Defending is a team game not just the back 5, this team is beginning to take shape.

McLean should be even better now he is off the mark. I'm one of those people who is shocked how good he is in the air for such a short fella, but (as my wife pointed out) he has the calves of a 20 stone rugby player. If we can sign Evans, Gerrard and Mannone I'll be a very happy tiger.

It's interesting that looking at the latest Actim Index stats (mid December), the only Tiger in the top 100 was Dawson.

Hopefully we'll see a couple more in there when they next compile it. If Dawson's recent improvement is reflected in the stats then he'll take some catching.

I just hope people will give the lad a break, he is the most reliable player we have and has been consistantly playing well for many seasons. Recently he was below par and instantly the clowns are shouting for his head. He will be in the team all season and won't let us down, hopefully into the play offs

Being fair to these 'clowns' Dawson was pretty poor/average last this season and up until the last three games he has being our worst player so far this season for me. To call people clowns on what is a pretty reasonable judgement is a bit harsh. I have heard a majority of people say Daws has not being himself this season, and that a new younger left back is needed. Just because we are critizing does not make us clowns. I rate Andy and he has being a great servant to this club no doubt, however we do not need to see him through rose tinted glasses due to his past performances.

I love Dawson's gamesmanship, like that handball he made in the EPL and he started rubbing his stomach as though it hit there. Sneaky.

great game from daws, hes always had the brain just sometimes a yard short of pace but, when him, barmby, koren and fryatt were linking with movement and one touch., scunthorpe had no answer....pace is dangerous, but theres more then one way to skin a cat...
