I’ve got a feeling a statement will come today from bzg. I’ve read a couple of snippets which seem to indicate a statement soon or within 24-48 hours.

I think today’s the day boys. Not that the takeover will go ahead buy more than likely the fit and proper status test is agreed.

If memory serves me well there was a f*cking big black cloud descended over everyone at the start of Independence Day. The only saving grace was Will Smith kicked sh!t out of that slimy fat twat.

Anyone else slightly worried by the BZG statement due out imminently? It worries me as Rafa has left and signed on else where now and the fact MA basically accused them of not wanting him, that kind of statement, if not true, will be the final nail in the coffin of this deal. Also with all the reports of MA basically including an advertising package or whatever else has been going on behind the scenes makes me worried they will basically come and say - "**** this for a game of soldiers, Ashley is a cretinous oaf who kept changing the terms and moving the goal posts, then insulted our faith again while chundering in some poor lasses hijab!"

You could be right but there is one glaring detail in all that which requires more substance. The source of the report saying Ashley blames BZG appears to be the papers. I read the alleged report on the likes of 90mins and The Mirror. The obvious omission being that there was not a single quote from Ashley or anyone remotely close to him saying BZG are to blame. Unlike our supporters going into a frenzy with each and every bullshit paper report, BZG will be a professional outfit who are fully aware of our press and how they operate. They won't get distracted by white noise like this.

Again its the same thing with the advertising etc, its just paper talk. The reality is neither BZG or Ashley have commented on the details of their negotiation. So at this stage this is just journos guessing based on historic information. It sells a few copies and NUFC fans desperate for news latch on start saying its fact. It isn't. They know what they're doing.

As far as I'm concerned this takeover is very much still on until one party involved in the negotiation declares otherwise. I'd say our fans would do well to stop getting sucked in by every paper report, but it would be akin to trying to repair a broken dam with a bath plug.

The way I look at it hes saving what, £8-£10 million a year with the free advertising.
Are you in some way involved in the takeover. This argument you put is far to sensible and factually correct for you to be a NUFC fan.......

Apparently Ashley's Chopper has arrived safely in the toon this afternoon, which for me can only mean 1 of two things,

    1. business is being concluded, sign off and either the conclusion of a sale/sign off for a new manager (probs Mark Hughes)

    2. Mike Ashley is taking pre-season training until Charnley sorts out a gaffer. The agenda will be a bleep test followed by a game of 5-a-side then 2 hours massage and sitting in the pool before they all head down the pub for some beers and scran

I dont use sky scanner and all that, plus I'm at work atm, but there are a host of screenshots on twitter showing Ashley's chopper in town. they seem genuine, i just want some communication from a trusted sauce, something i can really pin all my hopes on before they are hopelessly dashed.

Lots of rumours swirling of imminent statements from BZG, MA and the PL... Seen no evidence though.

I can't wait for this to be over, I absolutely hate the NUFC fanbase when things are in motion at the club. Not the informed people on here mind, or the average folk who go to the games and maybe pay a halfhearted interest in football, I mean the frenzied morons who can barely type in English who descend upon social media like a plague. How this country has lasted so long and somehow remains successful with such mouth breathers wandering out our cities is downright baffling. These fans latching onto ever snippet or whiff of news and turning it into a frenzy are contributing to the problems at this football club, not at all helping.

I hate to be disrespectful towards fans, but man, making up nonsense conspiracy theories pretending a cabal of billionaires sit around a darkened room trying to ruin their day. What's more likely, Mike Ashley is a successful yet sloppy business man in an industry he should never have entered, stuck in an investment he has lost faith in, or he is sitting in a room rubbing £50 notes on himself thinking up new and interesting ways he can disrespect a bunch of working class joes who have no idea how the club even paints the white lines on the grass. If new owners come in, we need to work on the culture of the fans as well, we simply have a very, very toxic group. How this can be done, I am unsure.

I've heard that the BZG guys didn't want Rafa so if true then it's no biggie I guess. Maybe the owners (current) didn't share the same views as Rafa because their views are to sell up and **** off!

A point I have tried to batter over people's heads since he was announced as leaving. Only a week prior the rumors were that Rafa would not be retained as the manager, we've been openly discussing his replacement. Then the inevitable situation happens and we are suddenly ****ed. People need to think more.
