please log in to view this image The singapore GP, ran in the dark Full of excitement and all of the lark shears, Memorial and the singapore sling, but which not606er will predict the win After a thrilling race at monza we now head out of europe and back to asia for Formula ones night race at the marina bay, Singapore. The track has traditionally been a stronghold for Alonso and the Ferrari has worked well on street circuits but will this follow through to this years even or will Vettel clinch the title in style.
I think one of the Mclarens will win it, on recent form you would say Button but on past form at Singapore you would say Hamilton. I am going for Button though because current form trumps past form. OT: I am on a train at the moment and bored so i searched for bluetooth devices and i found something called 'remote detonator'.
Any of the top team drivers could win this, excpet Webber and Massa...but lets hope im wrong, im starting to feel sorry for these guys. Alonso and Hamilton are the only winners of this race, and we how much that counts for...nothing.
I think we have to accept that every driver has a bad year every now and then..I think Hamilton, Webber and Massa are all having theirs at the moment. Almost guaranteed that Hamilton will learn from his tough mistakes this year. Webber should improve next year from tyre adaptations and the blown-diffuser ban. Personally, I think he'd be happier if he made a switch with Hamilton to McLaren (not to mention Red Bull would implode from Vettel/Hamilton rivalry) which could improve his form. As for Massa...impossible to say.
I think McLaren will have the best car for this circuit, although they might have trouble on the SS tyre if it's a hot race. You cant rule out Vettel/Red Bull either. This is arguably Alonso's strongest circuit but I think it will be a miracle if he manages to finish on the podium.
I just realised that if it finishes 1. Vettel 2. Hamilton 3. Button 4. Webber 5. Alonso The title is over.
I've voted Alonso, using my trademark (ill-thought out) common sense. I haven't got a prediction right all season.
I can see why people would feel sorry for Massa, he's had loads of bad luck, but Webber? his car has had 100% reliability for 2 seasons now (with the exception of some KERS trouble at the start of the season, but only for qualifying in 2 races), every retirement has been his fault (apart from Turkey, which was 50/50 in my book) and he's had to rely on other peoples mechanical failures to win in a car that has been the best for 2 1/2 years, something he hasn't done for over a year now. There's bad luck and there's lack of talent, Webber is in the latter group.
Webber is the most unlucky driver in F1. Bad luck in the last two seasons (from what I can remember): - China 2010 - Got forced off the track by Hamilton/Button and lost 6 places. - Australia 2010 - Red Bull pitted him way too late and went from 2nd to 6th. - Bahrain 2010 - Engine problem on the first lap. - Germany 2010 - Oil problem. - Valencia 2010 - Kovalainen weaving about in the breaking zone, massive shunt. - Australia 2011 - KERS not working. - China 2011 - Electrical and KERS problems. - Malaysia 2011 - KERS problems. - Canada 2011 - KERS problems, Hamilton span him. - Valencia 2011 - Gearbox problems. - Hungary 2011 - KERS problems. Not to mention loads of bad starts. EDIT: Forgot his broken leg and fractured shoulder.
Seriously Miggins, I have to ask, what's your beef with Webber? He's nowhere near as bad as you make him out to be.
I remember him retiring from a race once, I think it was in a williams because the car was burning his bum
