I swear that our forecasts of rain have gone to pot since they stopped looking at the sky in Poitiers and now a man in Toulouse does it which is miles away. Half an hour of rain expected about 1.00 pm, and it was bright sunshine. It is due to be raining now, and although the cloud has rolled in from the west it is still bone dry. Glad to have done my watering.
Morning all. Quite a lot of cloud around, but no rain despite the forecast of some. The wind has moved around to the north, so the temperature has dropped to a comfortable 26°C. I now have four walnut trees to plant. Mme was giving her pot plants a feed and tidy up yesterday afternoon and found healthy saplings growing. The squirrels have brought the nuts from a tree across the lane, and used her pots to store them in. I just hope that when I do get them in that the deer leave them alone. They seem to have the taste for young saplings of any sort. So enjoy the day, and let's hope the ladies do us proud this evening. There is certainly a feeling from the French that they would like to see us win.
Sunny here this morning and granddaughters Wendy house finished.. Just waiting for the fairy ♂️ lights and obligatory fairy door !
Morning all. Sunshine and maybe a shower this morning says the man from the meteo. Still bone dry. I have some brussel sprout plants ready to go in and wish the soil had a bit more moisture, but at present I do still have a decent amount of rainwater. What with football, tennis and the Tour de France starting at the weekend, I have plenty to watch when the afternoon is too warm to be out in the fields.
Morning all. Cloudless sky but a gentle breeze here, but it is likely to get back up into the 30's again this afternoon. Everyone seems to be out doing their gardening while it is cooler, including my 90+ year old across the road, who had a fall a year ago, broke her hip, and now steadies herself with an elbow crutch. She really is quite amazing with her attitude to not letting it slow her down. When it is not too hot off she goes on a walk down the lane and up to the top of the hill before returning by a different route, about two miles in total. Her family persuaded her to stop driving two years ago when she rolled her car into a field, so she now gets taken out to the shops or the Loto my one or other of the neighbours. The idea of going into one of the retirement homes is the last thing on her mind. Enjoy your day whatever you must or want to do.
Morning all. I am feeling that I maybe did a bit too much yesterday as I am rather stiff in the joints at present. The forecast said it will be 33°C today so I wanted to get some jobs done before the heat returned. It is warming up already, so a trip to the aircon of the supermarket will make the trip less of a pain than normal. Enjoy your day.
Morning all. It looks as though we had a shower overnight and storms have been forecast for today with hail. I am hoping that it will stay dry during the day as some friends are opening their garden for people to wander round, rather like the open garden scheme in the UK. They took early retirement thirty years ago so as to enjoy their passions, one gardening and the other restoration of old buildings. The farm and with it plenty of outbuildings has been transformed into a superb home surrounded by beautiful gardens. Set on top of a hill overlooking miles of open countryside, it is a wonderful place to live, and despite them getting on a bit in age now, they still enjoy being outside from dawn to dusk. Enjoy your day whatever you are doing.
