I refuse to believe this take over is anything more than Ashley ****ing with us. That being said, I think if it is going to happen, Ashley is using this opportunity to F over and annoy as many fans as possible. Letting Benitez go, Pre-season in China, Delay in transfers, horrendous new kit (most expensive kit in the league), the @NUFC Twitter page constantly mocking us, for instance putting sports direct bags in the new shirt promo video.

I really do hope he is just using this opportunity as a big F you to the supporters before he finally fooks off

I think the take over bid is real because Ashley doesn't care enough about what we think to bother inventing anything. I think it hasn't happened and probably won't because Ashley will always hold out for the best possible price plus 10%

A satsifaction of Charge which was initially set up in 2009 when Ashley bought the club was satisfied on the 21/06/2019 and created on Companies house today.

    https://beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/company/03796850/filing-history

This could simply be a piece of tidying up, but @kieranMaguire (a financial expert on Twitter and is often a guest on SSN) suggests it's possible these charges were set up, repaid and not cancelled off, possibly be forgotten about and have only come to light as part of a due diligence

    Could be nothing

a small, short term loan with barclays from back in 2009, I believe the loan was held against the newcastle Trademark (in a similar sense to the loan Ashley gave Rangers where he attempted to monopolise their trade mark and become the supplier of their kits).

It seems the loan was satisfied as per the agreement, probably over a decade ago (massive guess here) and although it was financially settled, it was never settled on Companies house, to clean up and show that this was settled, they've had to formally announce the satisfaction of charge on companies house.

This kind of tiny detail would only be picked up through completing a thorough review of the company, either from an audit (unknown why would be auditting 2009's records or more likely a due diligence. any potential buyer would want any outstanding loans/charges to be known and potentially settled prior to ownership.

so as you said will probably be a friday announcement

I've just ordered a top from DH Gate for 17 dollars. By all accounts they are near identical to the real thing and often come out of the same factory. I'll report my findings when it arrives.

Our FD at work just confirmed this.
He said someone is doing due dilligence and it has been picked up. He also said it will have been picked up a few weeks ago in all likelihood so the deal may be even more advanced.

Obviously a big part of me thinks this will all implode at some stage due to Ashley if it is still on.

However from the outside looking in it would look very much like this deal is on. Satisfaction of charges is a very clear indicator of a cleaning of house. Making the current owner dispense with the manager by not renewing is also a sign. This all looks very much like a new beginning on the horizon.

It would not be a surprise to see them want their own guy. Fans may not like it but a takeover is more important than Rafa sticking around. It would seem if it is going ahead its without Rafa. As vanilla as his statement was he made it clear he wanted to stay but it wasn't possible due to the current ownership not having the same vision. Would he have bothered if he knew he'd be returning.

I would say that discussions are almost certainly still ongoing. The continuing complete silence tells you that. They have been going on longer than I would have expected if the deal had been agreed and was simply being documented. I would guess that Ashley is trying to wring a few more pounds/a bit of free advertising out of the deal and that is holding things up. It could also very well result in the deal not completing. Time isn't on our side. The new season will start whether we are ready or not.

I also believe there's a slight cat and mouse game being played. Goalposts being moved, time limits and agreements being ammended.

Surely as a prospective buyer, they would like to complete the deal as soon as possible, but I do concur that it may be the case that the prospective buyers simply didnt want Rafa, it may have been detayed purposely so Ashley could be the guy to be seen to ditch him. I would say that if we do no receive confirmation of a takeover by next Monday or in the meantime we receive confirmation of a manager, it will be another 12 months with Ashley in charge.
