Bear in mind there will still be a core group of players that Ralph will considers too important to cash in on. I'd say the likes of Gunn, Valery, Bednerak, Redmond & Hojbjerg will all be central to his plans. We essentially have 3 categories of players: Those we are actively looking to sell as they are not wanted here Those that we would sell for the right price but still have a part to play Those that will be central to Ralph's plans that we will not entertain offers for
That's fine but if we have say those important 5, lose 4 or 5 from your middle category and 1 or 2 from the end category then that would put a fair bit of pressure on the recruitment being good to improve us I feel. It does go back to the old argument since the Pellegrino days of whether the squad is as bad as it has been playing, or whether it was down to the crapness of the managers (Pellegrino and Hughes).
Not sayings it's desirable, but we won't be the first team this has happened to...will be fine if we replace OK players with an upgrade and accept there will be some players that we'd rather have lost. And it may be better personally for those OK players to move on if they would be marginal here. * *At no point should this be taken to include Maya
Brilliant indeed! In fact, I think I prefer 'rent' to 'loan' so much, that I'm going to advocate that 'rent' becomes the normal terminology from on now.
Good luck Matty, thanks for all those crosses, and that sumptuous header against Bournemouth! All the very best, but when we play you, please remember where you started out!
This seems a weird sale to me as an outsider, but I can see you lads clearly ain’t fussed. I liked the look of him, but maybe that’s just cos I managed to super train him up to an 88 on Fifa haha.
He's a good lad, but he's not going to displace Berty, so we'll allow another youngster to take his place and hover up some much needed cash. I wish him well. I met him in 2014, ironically in our home game with Villa. He was just walking around with the fans outside, along with Harrison.
