The BBC did a documentary about Skinhead culture (starting of
course with the "spirit of 69" ) . They had this poor black guy, who
had followed the music as it evolved during his youth.

As Oi! emerged, he said he liked the music but it was effectively
killed for him by the fact he could never go to a live gig with his
white mates as he had always done.

Of all the Oi! bands, they really are/were the most ****ing loathsome.

By coincidence, I was chatting to someone at last night's gig, he went to a wedding in the last year or so and Jello Biafra was one of the fellow guests. He did Holiday in Cambodia unaccompanied.....I'd have ****ing loved that!

    Now, that's punk.

Excellent documentary tracking the history of what was 60's white Londoners celebrating and ripping off black culture, that was allowed to be turned into something really unpleasant just a few years later.

There were bands that had to fight to rid themselves of racist followings in the 70's. It broke Jimmy Pursey but he refused to give in to them. Others campaigned against racism and encouraged diversity in many forms and it kept the far right in check. Skrewdriver were the first band, that I can recall, to actively encourage the racists but others followed, encouraged by Bushell, the ****.

"Now the sun shines bright and the birds they sing"? Standard thrash lyrics.

    Twas always there.
Even the "spirit of 69" crowd had a "paki bashing" mindset within it.

Madness I felt most sorry for.
A whispered slander about them being race haters, all because some morons
made a 2 + 2 = 22 observation that of all the 2 Tone bands, their line-up was all white,
and so started attending their gigs.

Some far right idiots thought The Clash were sympathetic because of song titles like 'White Riot' and 'White Man in Hammersmith Palais'.

    They're not the brightest.

A review of the 2 nights in Brighton. He's not far wrong that the boys are on a real performance high right now...and they did miss out Liar on the Thursday.

    https://www.brightonandhovenews.org/2019/06/28/two-damned-good-brighton-gigs/

I booked tickets for the Palladium gig.....£65 a ticket including booking, etc.

****ing hell, this popularity is getting expensive.....nearly sold out, too.

So far, the only footage of Thursday. Thankfully, no bald spot in sight but a top performance of one of Mrs B's least favourites. Predictably, I love it.

    Enjoy...

Sorry about the drummer's shirt. With my failing eyesight and mostly watching Paul play that Rickenbacker, I didn't spot it on the night.

Glastonbury is proof that rock n roll is dead.
Dreary, middle aged, middle of the road music for the style over substance generation that they can enjoy sharing with their grannies.
    F*** you
