I know it sounds obvious but the first goal on Sunday will be critical.

If we get it then Spurs will open the game up and that will leave us space. If Spurs get the first goal then I can see Sc's comments coming true. Of the 2 sides I believe that we have the stronger defence and that we can attack more confidently to recover the situation.

I don't think that I can 'call' this one. If it does have to be a draw then I hope that it is entertaining. Both sides can win it so it may all come down to which of them is prepared to take the risk.

 

Why do Liverpool fans seem to think that we're going to be defensive?
We couldn't play defensively if we tried!

 

What? The first goal is "critical" but even if you concede you're good enough to recover? FYI we won more points last season than any other team after conceding the first goal

 

The last 5-10 mins when we try to shut up shop, particularly under Jol, was always excruciating. We'd invite pressure, everyone would stand on the 18 nyard box with Zokora being the only player brave enough to run with the ball when we won it back

 

Don't Liverpool actually have a very poor recovery rate after going behind?
Something like two games won in a season?
By contrast, didn't we get something like 24 points from losing positions or something equally ludicrous?
Not ideal to be going behind in the first place, but nice to know that we can recover or at least we could last season.
