    West Ham, Watford and Premier League newcomers Sheffield United are all interested in signing former Arsenal striker Emmanuel Adebayor, 35. The Togo international is a free agent after being released by Turkish club Istanbul Basaksehir.

    Somehow I find it difficult to believe that we are interested in a 35 year old.

    According to a report from Corriere di Roma, Simone Inzaghi's Lazio are closing in on a deal to sign FC Copenhagen's 23-year-old defender Denis Vavro in the coming days.

    Tuttomercatoweb reported earlier this week that Premier League side Watford had tabled an £8 million bid for the Slovakian but if the latest reports are to be believed, Javi Gracia has missed out on a brilliant young centre-half. Vavro played a staggering 50 games for Copenhagen in all competitions last season and was arguably one of their best players. Standing at 6 feet 3 inches tall, his physicality and ability to bully people off the ball seemed like he would have been a perfect fit for the Premier League but Watford will now to have to look elsewhere.

    Watford have signed 17-year-old centre back Leandro Paiva, according to reports in Portugal.

    The report, which was written by Portuguese publication O Jogo, was accompanied by a picture of a player wearing this season's Watford training kit.

    It claims the 17-year-old central defender has joined from Neuchatel Xamax in Switzerland and has signed a professional five-year contract with the Hornets.

    It also suggests Paiva will be used in the first team, rather than the developmental squad.
