I never know who any of these players are because I don't watch world football so when we're linked I go and check them out. I'm impressed with Fernandes and I'd love us to be in for him.
Absolutely but it as to be realistic too. It's never actually Real / PSG vs Huddersfield, that's just people exaggerating to make a point (which I realise you were doing then). Burton Albion vs Real Madrid is a no brainer, you go to Madrid! However, he had the pick of most top clubs and Real Madrid at the time had zero reputation for developing youth. Going to RM was widely regarded as career suicide for such a young player at the time, never mind in hindsight. I actually don't have a issue with players chasing the money if that's what they want. I actually respected the Spurs left back that said he didn't like football, he was only in it for the money. What I don't like is when they say one thing but do the opposite.
Yes big exaggeration on my part. I think young Odengaard (spl I really don't know his name) was starstruck as much as anything else and you can also feel a bit sorry for these young lads when it doesn't work out. It might not always be greed.
There comes a point where the extra money makes only a little difference. 30k a year to 40k a year for us normal folk is huge. 100k a week at a youth encouraging team like say Arsenal or 130k a week at Real but zip chance of game time and, like the hundreds of kids before you, career suicide before heading down to some tier 2 Spanish league team having wasted 4 years not even making the bench. You're set for life regardless of club, you have to consider your career. Common sense seems to be lacking in footballers, but then most of them do seem a bit dim. Agents are pesky, greedy bastards, but it doesn't take much intelligence to look at the countless examples who've gone before you, wonder why bother jumping straight to Real at 19years old and tell your agent he's a muppet
imo should have gone to bayern at worse. of course I think our club would be best but even across europe of all the clubs he had real would be rock bottom for player development.
We're assuming he could pick any club here btw I'd also say moving to any of the top clubs at his age suggests his 'development' has gone pretty well so far.
Tottenham offer Christian Eriksen to Real Madrid for £62m - but there’s a problem TOTTENHAM have reportedly offered Christian Eriksen to Real Madrid - but Los Blancos are unlikely to accept a deal for one reason. https://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/f...m-transfer-news-Christian-Eriksen-Real-Madrid
If Marco Asensio is that good, why is Real Madrid trying to exchange him for Sadio Mane?. Very crazy.
