Serious question, why would you start the process of a takeover during the summer transfer window?

We were safe before the last game, so why not show interest then?

The only "positive" signs are Rafa leaving and no incoming or outgoings in playing staff. From an abundance of evidence, that is usually just Ashley, though.

 

They had already met the asking price and Ashley clearly doesn't intend to sell..

 

What is the benefit to him pretending as if he will sell? He doesn't get any easier time of it. Surely he would rather spend time buying other failing highstreet stores, than being a drama queen and wasting his time entertaining discussions?

I think he does intend to sell, but he's obviously not going to lose money on the deal. That interest free loan that has never been dented is probably a stumbling block for most interested parties.

 

I honestly think there’s a hold up over the commercial side of the deal, if BZG are paying in installments then Ashley will want SD advertising in place until all of the €350m is paid......If we don’t appoint a new manager this week I think that will be a sure sign that a deal is in place

 

I think theres more chance of me getting to feast on eugenie Bouchards truffle hole than this takeover going through .
