Gomez has been linked with us on and off for the last six months or so - although as I've also said a few times in that six months or so, considering he's just broken into the Uruguay team I can't see why he'd be willing to play second fiddle to Harry Kane, and to be blunt we could've picked him up for peanuts a couple of years ago but he wasn't on our radar at all
Making excuses for himself. If things don't work out, then it's not on his head, as he didn't have 100% control of the signings. That's the case at virtually every club in the world. If he doesn't like that, then he shouldn't be a manager.
Loanee Whispers FootballDotLondon are also running with the story of Luke Amos being loaned to QPR, which Lilywhite Rose suggested would happen yesterday The Times reported that our bid for Wan Bissaka also had KWP headed to Selhurst Park for the season as part of the deal - although some blogs are suggesting the loan may still happen anyway
WTF ?? The Poool benefited from having assets such as Suarez and Coutinho to sell, and spend the resulting money on replacement players and squad strengthening. To lump them in with a Sugga Daddy FC like Citeh is embarrassing.
Lower League Rando Watch London Football News report that we're in negotiations for West Brom's 19 year old central midfielder Rekeem Harper, presumably looking to thrash out a compensation package as his contract expires on Sunday - although the Birmingham Mail report West Brom have made a last ditch contract offer to keep him...while hoping nobody mentions Saido Berahino to him Bundesliga Rando Watch Murdoch's Hate Comic have reported we're after Schalke 22-year old goalkeeper Alexander Nubel, who was their main goalkeeper for the second half of the season due to Ralf Fahrmann's various injury problems...which certainly doesn't sound like agent bollocks, given he's got a year on his contract and Bayern haven't shown any interest in chucking him in the back of the van with every other Bundesliga team's best players
Chelsea I get but Arsenal...Wenger more or less had total carte blanche from the day Dein left until he himself left. I'm sorry but I find his comments confusing and out of place. Not for the first time recently, either.
Actually it isn't, given how much cash FSG have sloshing about - which is exactly why they can offer six-figure salaries to players without giving it a second thought, be it for player where that seems like a good idea (giving Mane £120k p/w, triple what he was paid at Southampton) or where the entire football world was screaming at them what a stupid idea it was (paying Joe Cole the same £100k a week he got for being on the Chavs' treatment table)
One of the endearing things about Pochettino has been his general absence from engaging in this kind of chatter. I would prefer a stock answer to be constructed for these matters, and give the hacks a "I refer you to my answer I gave on a previous occasion" response.
Aurier gone off injured in the ACON Signing a new RB may have just shuffled up the agenda somewhat...
The trouble is with what has been said is that it will give the media more ammo to chat ****e about the club, his and Levy's relationship and our ability to progress as a team.
Poch not confident of getting who he wants? Or is Poch saying stop bartering(incase we lose out) therefore the chairman's actions dictate the purchases at Spurs
He used to give very earnest and honest press conferences and interviews. There was some light piss taking and a certain degree of annoyance at the usual 'narrative' questions, but generally they were very consistent. Recently, MP's been giving hugely contradictory interviews to the press. One day he's committed to the club, the next he's going to retire and go back to Argentina. The next we've been saving our money to buy players or...we're much poorer than anyone else. I don't like it but I don't think that it has any particular significance for us going forward. Stating that DL buys the players just allows him to deflect questions about who we're looking to buy. It isn't the case anymore, as DL would have bought a couple last summer, had he not agreed to let MP have final say. He's stated that he won't break his contract without DL's agreement and I think that's non-negotiable as far as he's concerned. He knows that others want him but we need him. Our transfer business is looking to be made up solely of players of 23 years of age or under, which smacks of long-term building and he's calling the shots. It just smacks of the club getting the PR stuff wrong....again.
Exodus Watch Reports suggest that Sheffield Wednesday have made an offer to sign Josh Onomah Connell Watch Well that's one we can officially cross off the list...
