Wouldn't you love to see him doing post-match interviews though, HIAG? "Now look at this Mr Wenger, is this a dive or isn't it? What do you mean you didn't see it? Are we really expected to believe that? Look, here's the footage. Is it a dive, yes or no? Answer the question: yes or no?"
PNP, that would be great! "You were taken apart, weren't you, Mr Wenger" "No, I wouldn't say zat. Ze ref gave some decision that were unfortunate for us..." "Oh, come on, Mr Wenger! Are you saying that you lost 3-0 to Norwich because of the ref! That's rubbish, isn't it! And you know it, don't you, Mr Wenger?"
Famous Micheal Howard interview...... 'Did you threaten to overrule him?' Transposed for Harry...'Did you evade your taxes?' Paxman would be good on MOTD
Don't talk about Michael Howard here, he was my MP...and he's a ****er, did nothing. Can you prove Harry evaded taxes?...the CPS haven't managed it yet!, till then its a libellous remark. Paxman - Come on Ferguson talk to the Beeb...so your son was a dodgy agent!
...don't care. The gist is understood by those of us with rudimentary understanding of English. Do not even think about going into an English pedantry lesson with me Ens...not in the mood!
Michael Howard was one of the most right wing Tories to come out of that bunch of post Thatcherite cabinet ministers. During his time as Home Secretary he implemented and oversaw some of the most draconian measures ever passed in statute. Even prompting Ann Widdicombe to remark that there 'is something of the night about him'..... btw - an open ended question is not libelous.
So if you were asked on TV whether or not you are a ***** and were pressed on it, you don't think that is actionable if there is absolutely no reason for the question?
Obviously I will not argue with a lawyer in matters of law, but surely if you can show that being asked "Are you a serial killer" had damaged your reputation because of most people's "no smoke without fire" assumptions, then you'd have a case?
